February 17, 201213 yr Oh good call for that monstrosity (Witloof Baby, but while I haven't heard that Greek entry, I certainly am not going to). I'd honestly forgotten about that, last year was the first time I watched the semis, and that didn't encourage me, it looked so unprofessional, and from what I recall sounded dreadful. How that managed to get more points than TWiiNs... :manson:
February 17, 201213 yr I don't mind With Love Baby or S.A.G.A.P.O. My prediction for top 3 would be the same as Tyron's, no idea what order though!
February 17, 201213 yr Author I don't mind With Love Baby or S.A.G.A.P.O. My prediction for top 3 would be the same as Tyron's, no idea what order though! My barometer to guage whether you dislike a Eurovision entry is if it only makes the 51-60 area of your personal chart :kink: Did With Love Baby/S.A.G.A.P.O. chart for you incidentally?
February 17, 201213 yr , nowadays the entries I really don't like are the ones that fail to chart, there's usually only one or two that don't. With Love Baby spent 2 weeks at #46 and S.A.G.A.P.O. failed to chart, but that was back in the days when I wasn't so obsessed with Eurovision that nearly every entry charted :heehee: . Only 7 entries that year made my chart, but I did like most of the others too.
February 18, 201213 yr 'With Love Baby' grew on me from like, #39 before the contest to an almost qualifier! The performance was good.
February 18, 201213 yr I have a feeling that Switzerland's SixForOne (from 2006 I think) might make an appearance in your top 3...
February 18, 201213 yr Most song in this list are deserving a Top 10 place. 'Cipela' though? :( 'With love baby' is dreadful indeed. Oh dear. I'm hoping Mala Dama ISN'T Top 3, because it's a NICE SONG.
February 18, 201213 yr Author 3. Kabát - Mala Dama (Czech Republic 2007 - 28th in the semi-final) 2m2JGqmd9QY The Czech Republic's first of three Eurovision entries, such a shame that two were crimes to music. Following Lordi's win in 2006 it was only inevitable that the rock/metal quota in the contest would increase in the years following, Mala Dama was the first of these but unlike Lordi it brought to the table no melody, no likeability factor and no costumes! But the very worst thing about it was the 'singer's gruff and unbearable voice. It managed to salvage a whole point in the end, from Estonia. One more than Gipsy.cz got two years later at least. It's actually a shame that the Czech Republic's foray into Eurovision was so short lived, their three thumping DNQ's were down to two horrendous 'songs' and a decent pop song that was transformed into a try hard average one in time for the final. They didn't exactly give themselves the best chance to prove their worth.
February 18, 201213 yr Author 2. Intars Busulis - Probka (Latvia 2009 - 19th in the semi-final) cU5d8wdmaG4 Onto Latvia. Oh, Latvia, why so awful? It's all been downhill since their decent debut in 2000 and they have provided us with some of the very worst that Eurovision has to offer. None moreso than the 2009 entry Probka. In possibly my favourite Eurovision year of the last decade, entry wise and results wise, the bad songs sounded even worse against such a strong pack. Sung in Russian, for the contest held in Russia, it failed to attract any votes from the motherland, but did get 6 and 1 from deluded neighbours Lithuania and Estonia respectively. A bizarre mixture of dad-rock sung by a chunkier version of Ryan from Eastenders and some nonsense from the over enthusiastic female backing vocalists, it was a melody free cold mess.
February 18, 201213 yr Oh god, I'd totally forgot about Witloof Baby but my god it was abysmal  I can't believe how close it was to qualifying!
February 18, 201213 yr Author 1. Copycat - Copycat (Belgium 2009 - 17th in the semi-final) -qg72GOW9aY If there's one thing I hate more than ANYTHING else in the world, it's Elvis tribute acts, they're everywhere, always and universally diabolical. Belgium decided to send one to Eurovision, bad move. Worse still is that the song was less Elvis and more Jive Bunny meets The Cartoons. Sure it had a tune, which is more than can be said for the other songs in the top three, but why bother when it's as hideous as this? In the opposite semi to Probka, it managed a HUGE 1 point, courtesy of Armenia. That ridiculous 'miaow' in the opening three seconds of the song really sealed the deal before the $hit had really come streaming out, not just one of my least favourite Eurovision songs of the last decade but perhaps one of my least favourite songs ever, if only because most other Elvis tribute acts don't put their 'talent' on record. It seems that every odd numbered year, Belgium will send an abomination, so surely we're due something great to follow Kate Ryan, Ishtar and Tom Dice this year? Please Belgium, nothing like this or Witloof Bay ever again, we know you're one of the most eccentric countries in the contest but we can't take anymore! So it's well done for 2009 for providing probably the highest quality final and presentation we've seen, but lets not forget some of the horrors left behind in the semis. Between them, my top three worst here scored a collective points total of 9, and that just about sums up how awful Europe found them, not just me.
February 18, 201213 yr Copycat is truly a total crime to music, I totally agree and I would have it at least in my top 5 worst. Awful awful bleh.
February 18, 201213 yr Huzzah, bang on prediction in songs and order! *.* I can't STAND Copycat but for me Probka has to take the lead! Quite possibly my least favourite song of all time, and quite definitely the worst of all time. I was AGOG when Pavel briefly had it under 'excellent' or somesuch in his rankings during the 2009 season!
February 18, 201213 yr Author Huzzah, bang on prediction in songs and order! *.* Indeed, I was incredibly impressed seeing as there were a pool of literally hundreds of songs that you could have picked from!
February 18, 201213 yr Author Every odd-numbered year? What about Urban Trad? :o In the last few I meant.
