It is now in its 51st week on the BB200 charts, has it EVER fallen out of the top 10? Has it spent more weeks in the US Top 10 than it has in the UK top ten?

Also, which acts have the record for staying max weeks in the BB200 Top 10?
I don't have the full run, but it's definitely spent more weeks in the UK top 10 than the US, it hasn't fallen from the UK top 10 since it's release (nor the US top 10 for that matter) but it was released a month later in the US.

It's only been outside the top 5 once in its entire chart run (never lower than #7 and only 5 weeks outside the top 3).

As Liam said, it has spent longer in the UK top 10 but only by default as it's never left the top 10 in either and it's been out for 55 chart weeks in the UK and only 51 in the USA.

 

Not sure about most weeks in the top 10, I think someone posted some stats on that a while ago somewhere.

For some reason, I was thinking it had fallen from the UK top 10 for a while. Given that SFTTR airplay is still high (in the US) and a 4th single is out mid March, plus the Grammys effect, we could easily see it spend another 2 months in the US top 10 right?

Make that 20 months.

2 months is a massive underestimate - I wouldn't be surprised if it stays top 10 all year and more.

I don't know what the actual record is for most weeks top 10, but I'm fairly confident Adele will SMASH it. It's a shame she's against re-releases or that would give it even more of a boost :P Not that it needs boosting at all tbh :lol:

I'm glad she's against re-releases. They're really a rip-off (thanks Gaga). I'd rather she come up with "23" or "24" a few years from now. What I will be interested in is if they let her create her own music as she did for the last 2 albums, or ship her off to work with the producers du jour given that her next album will be widely widely anticipated.

Now for another question is how many will she sell OVERALL in the US? Also will she grab the best selling UK album of all time record?

I think several Beatles records may be in the way first.

I wonder if this will end up as the best seller of 2012 as well. It will, at the very least be top 5.

As far as I know it's Come on Over, although the only real source I have for that is Wikipedia (who, of course, cite other sources).

You could very well be right. Didn't "Come on over" spend like all of 1998 and 99 in the Top 20 of both the BB200 and the UK Top 40? (if those 2 countries are any indication of chart success around the world).

 

Although now that you mention it, it's world sales were about 37mil. Adele could smash that in time. She's already managed 20mil in 1 yr.

I'd say Shania is pretty safe.

I think Adele could sell 10 million plus in the US alone, and I think she COULD int he next 10 years or so become the first Artist to have an album to sell over 6 million in the UK
