So have you ever wanted to know what was in the top 10 in a certain week in the US but can't be bothered to try and look it up?

Well this thread for you then! I got this idea from an old book by Tony Jasper "The Top 20" book or something along those lines so kudos to that and here's how it works....

JANUARY 1980

5 12 19 26

1.PLEASE DON’T GO- K.C & The Sunshine Band. 5 9 --

2.ESCAPE (THE PINA COLADA SONG)- Rupert Holmes. 1 3 4

3.ROCK WITH YOU- Michael Jackson. 2 1 1

4.SEND ONE YOUR LOVE- Stevie Wonder. 4 5 6

5.DO THAT TO ME ONE MORE TIME- Captain & Tennille. 3 2 2

In the above example you can see the month and year in bold, beneath that the dates of the chart in that month, the 5th, 12th, 19th etc and below that the top 10. So you can see that KC & The Sunshine Band were No 1 on the chart dated 5th Jan, then the record fell to No 5 on the 12th jan, No 9 on 19th Jan and then out on the 26th Jan. Simples

I've only done the top 10 as that alone was so time consuming! and positions outside the top 10 are not denoted for those records climbing. If a song enters the chart straight into the top 10 (it doesn't happen until the 90s) then there is an asterix besides it to show that it was a new entry instead of a climber. Any questions ask but it should become clear.

The formatting has gone from it so apologies for that!
