One that's tall with a different face to his normal one. The little bits we keep hearing make it sound more and more like something I'd like to watch.

The quip about Shiro Samurai warrior came back to me last night and I started googling.

Apparently there is an ancient Japanese legend based on a historical figure, which has been tapped for a couple of video games so far.

I wonder if the writer of Beauty and the Beast is trying to tie in East/West legends.

The only thing to come out of either BatB project so far are two photos of Kristin Kruek (sp), not in character , I believe.

There seems top have been more about the CW one but opinion seems to be veering towards ABC - I hope that's true and that it's enough

I think the CW one has the popularity edge at the moment because people have seen most of its cast in shows before and many know what the earlier series was like, whereas the synopsis for ABC's doesn't give much away so no-one knows what to expect and the two title leads are virtually unknown in the US.

Personally, I think they've both got a decent chance of going to series.

Latest spoiler from spoiler.com includes this

His eyes. His piercing blue eyes. Before Princess Grace (Ruth Bradley - Titanic mini-series) ever met Shiro (Darius Campbell), she dreamt of his unforgettable eyes and knew that, despite his beastly appearance, he held a powerful connection to her.

Eh?

I'm never able to hold that gaze for long but whenever I have, I could swear Darius's eyes are very definitely dark.

Definitely brown apart from a little while in pop stars when he wore blue contact lenses - why blue I wonder. He has very nice brown eyes of his own

Edited by megham

If blue eyes were an important element in the unravelling mystery - say the beast is a relative of the Emperor's family- why on earth would a casting director cast someone with brown eyes? I'm sure LA in early pilot season has a surplus of tall actors with blue eyes.

I guess getting the best actor for the role was more important than elements which could re-written or physically altered on set.

I hope they change their mind on that, because otherwise, Darius will lose the subtleness of performance that Jill Paice described as 'always something going on behind his eyes'.

It's the way Meisner works............. always being in the moment, always in character and always thinking and reacting to the whole situation and everyone in the scene, not just the person you're talking to.

It will be there, but the impact will be lessened.

would have thought blue could have been replaced with "brown" if he is a Samerui warrior..blue eyes are a bit odd, dont asian, chinese people have brown eyes as the norm?

Perhaps they were avoiding the norm? Still, we will find out later (I hope)

How on earth do you find out these things, BT? And please carry on doing so.

I just bumble around the net and stumble upon them.

Actually, I think I better go find the link because in additon to that extra element in the resume of the story, there was a screen shot of what might be the title.

It'd be good to see what it'd look like. DS chose to put up some pilots but didn't mention Darius' at all
