Posted March 2, 201213 yr Hot Chip :: 'In Our Heads' June 11th 2012 http://hotchip.co.uk/cms/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/HotChip1cSteveGullicklores1.jpg "We're very proud to announce a majestic addition to the Domino family: Hot Chip will be releasing their highly anticipated fifth album, In Our Heads on Domino. Having put out consistently awesome records since 2004, we're sure you've been waiting with bated breath to hear what they're up to. Well, you won't have much longer to wait at all - the album will be released on LP, CD and digitally on June 11th in the UK (and the following day in the US). And immediately after that they'll be hitting the road, with several European dates already confirmed and more to follow. Recorded right here in London and produced by the band themselves (with additional production and engineering by Mark Ralph), In Our Heads is the band’s follow up to 2010's intoxicating and singular One Life Stand and their first LP for Domino. Anyone who has listened to Hot Chip's output over the greater part of a decade can testify to the enormous collective talent of band members Joe Goddard, Alexis Taylor, Felix Martin, Al Doyle and Owen Clarke. They will also have noted how the band refuses to stand still, constantly evolving their sound to include a diverse mix of soul, R&B, gospel, Detroit House, disco and funk while maintaining an instantly identifiable and unquestionably unique "Hot Chip sound". In Our Heads is an unadultered delight of an album bursting with dynamic dancefloor-movers, instant yet enduring hooks and verbose synth-fuelled love songs and fully cements Hot Chip's position as the world’s most talented electro-romantics." (Via Domino) 01 'Motion Sickness' 02 'How Do You Do' 03 'Don’t Deny Your Heart' 04 'Look At Where We Are' 05 'These Chains' 06 'Night and Day' 07 'Flutes' 08 'Now There Is Nothing' 09 'Ends of the Earth' 10 'Let Me Be Him' 11 'Always Been Your Love' Loved the debut. Hated the second. Loved the third. Excited.
March 2, 201213 yr One Life Stand was pretty great and Joe Goddard going solo/2 Bears was even better so i've got HIGH HOPES for this one.
March 2, 201213 yr Loved the debut. Hated the second. Loved the third. Excited. You shouldn't be, going by the pattern that sets up. :o  They've had some great singles ('Ready for the Floor' and The Culture Show theme 'Over and Over' in particular), but I can't say I've ever loved the majority of an album. Still, 'Gabriel' was fantastic and you never know when an act might manage to pull off something with unexpected perfection.
March 2, 201213 yr I wish I liked them more than I do. Got so much nostalgia for the first album but none of the others really registered with me. Gonna give them another go in preparation.
March 2, 201213 yr I'm a Hot Chip fan but I bloody LOVE Joe Goddard's stuff so yeah if he's driving this boat x
March 2, 201213 yr Ooh, great to see new Hot Chip on the way. Feels like they've barely been gone but I guess that's partially because of Joe's solo thing and The 2 Bears plugging the gap a bit.
March 3, 201213 yr This should be incredible. I agree that the energy that they've put into their solo projects (has anyone heard New Build, Al and Felix's project with LCD Soundsystem, they're definitely living out their New Order fantasies) makes me MORE excited for this than I would have been beforehand. That and my BF is a TOTAL loon for them
March 3, 201213 yr I like Hot Chip a lot (TERRIBLE live though), but I have to say, I don't think they've ever released anything as utterly fabulous as the (spin off project) 2 Bears album.... which is one of the finest dance albums of the past decade.
March 15, 201213 yr So 'Flutes' premiered today... 99z1_IMJNl8 It's not exactly great for hearing the song, but Details Of My Life have the full seven-minute studio version. Pretty good, not much change in sound really.
March 15, 201213 yr Nice, I'm really looking forward to this. Have pretty much loved everything they've done, especially "Ready For The Floor" and "One Life Stand"!
April 22, 201213 yr Author I have been listening to both songs all weekend after hearing Night and Day out! So good.
April 22, 201213 yr Really struggling to get into them this time around, it doesn't feel like they've progressed very much considering the amount of years they've been around and I think I'm just getting bored of the whole geek dance image and it's beginning to feel dated.
April 22, 201213 yr I'm too scared to listen, I get the feeling it's just gonna have 2008 written all over. Somebody please come shake me hard and tell me everything will be alright.
