01 (--) Prance Faris - Flares (01) [1 wk] I'm grinning from ear to ear :o Fantastic to see a song that you wouldn't have otherwise discovered make it all the way to the top of your chart, I'm so pleased that this managed to have such a widespread appeal and smash through that dance glass ceiling, to make a new one of 3rd place now. It will take one HELL of a dance song to finish top two in the contest

How did Mikey know?!!! :o I can add Prance Faris to my list of personal chart toppers that (as of this week at least) never made it in the UK. There is hope though for a nice juicy summer anthem style smash.

24 (--) Tone Damli - Look Back (24) [1 wk] Is this Tone Damli's first hit for you? I know Butterflies had a UK release and heavy Radio 2 airplay a couple of years ago

I'm pretty sure this is Tone's first single to make my chart. 'Butterflies' may have just passed me by without grabbing my attention. If it was 2009 then I've no way of knowing because I only log my top 20 hits throughout the year, and my personal charts were posted on ChC (which died :drama: ) and for the duraton of 2009 I forgot my password for Haven so my charts for 2009 aren't archived anywhere. :(

36 (--) Nicki Minaj - Starships (36) [1 wk] Oh. I thought this would be FAR higher, maybe a slow burner for you? :o

Hmm, that first verse in 'Starships' really irritates me. I know that's Nicki Minajs' "style" but sometimes it works whilst on other tracks it's just completely OTT and a bit puzzling. It may climb just like 'Moment 4 Life' did but don't be too shocked if this stalls at #21 in my chart.

40 (--) Ladyhawke - Black White & Blue (40) [1 wk] Completing a run of five very low debuts, a few of them aren't that surprising but I thought you might like this a bit more. Did Ladyhawke have any big hits in your chart back in 2008?

Prior to this, Ladyhawke had five tracks that made my top 20, so quite a step down with the new single although somewhat outweighed by all the BJSC related entries. No such thing existed pre-2011.

PNAU feat. Ladyhawke - Embrace #3

Ladyhawke - My Delirium #3

Ladyhawke - Dusk Til' Dawn #7

Ladyhawke - Magic #16

Ladyhawke - Paris Is Burning #19

Pleasing to see Never Stop Coming Back in your pre-release chart, a double whammy of appreciation for my BJSC song competition entries! Interestingly it's the sort of song/sound that I'd have liked to have seen Ladyhawke come back with...on another note, did Soldier never chart for you before? :o

No, I ruled out charting my BJSC DNQ entries in the same way I don't chart any Eurovision semi finalists that didn't make the final. It probably sounds harsh as and perhaps ridiculous to others, but it just helps me breakdown what I chart. Otherwise I end up with 80 tracks and a top 40 to compile. I'd never get a chart compiled otherwise.

1. We can wish, there's less chance of him getting signed and then getting a UK hit though than there is Atomic Kitten having a successful reunion

40. Interesting to see, Embrace was amazing, a great UP winner

Ah right, interesting. Will you bend a rule to chart Euphoria if it doesn't get sent to Eurovision?

37 (--) Madeon - Icarus (37) [1 wk]

39 (--) The Ting Tings - Hang It Up (39) [1 wk]

Great chart Hits, shame you're not really taking to Hang It Up! I'm really loving that track right now. I hope StooShe enter fairly high next week. :P

New Arctic Monkeys single is probably their best in a while, and the Madeonn single is decent. :D

Cheers Dan :D

Hmm, 'Hang It Up' is alright but The Ting Tings were never a band I thought were incredible even back in 2008. Their biggest hits remain 'Shut Up And Let Me Go' (#3) and 'Great DJ' (#6). They would have to release something brilliant if they were ever going to make my top 10 again.

StooShe are looking set for probably a low top 10 entry as my current top 5 and the BJSC entries are no doubt going to continue to dominate next week.

Agreed that 'R U Mine?' is Arctic's best single for a while whilst Madeon's single I also think is good.

This chart is so January. GOSH.

And where is my Emma?!?

Cheers Pavel :D

I'm glad you love my chart so much.

Emma will enter my Pre-Release chart post-BJSC XLII final (unless she DNQ which surely won't happen? :o ). :D That's right, my chart next month will be so February. GOSH. :D

Hello Hits,

01 (--) Prance Faris - Flares (01) [1 wk]

02 (01) Studio Killers - Ode To The Bouncer (01-01-02) [3 wks]

03 (--) Foxes - Youth (03) [1 wk] - Foxes shoot back up on the multichart (along wish Prance Faris)! :o I liked this but not enough to give it points, it had only one amazing bit for me. Still a good winner, and the whole of the top 5 10 would have been deserving.

04 (02) DJ Fresh feat. Rita Ora - Hot Right Now (02-02-04) [3 wks]

05 (03) Donkeyboy - City Boy (02-03-03-05) [4 wks]

08 (--) Ian Carey & Rosette feat. Timbaland & Brasco - Amnesia (08) [1 wk]

09 (--) Chiddy Bang - Ray Charles (09) [1 wk] - This isn't that good for me, I far prefer Opposite Of Adults, that was quite clever, not getting the same feeling with Ray Charles.

10 (--) The Storm - My Crown (10) [1 wk]

11 (11) Lil' Wayne feat. Bruno Mars - Mirror (11-11) [2 wks]

12 (10) Michel Teló - Ai Se Eu Te Pego! (06-07-10-10-12) [5 wks]

13 (07) Flo Rida feat. Sia - Wild Ones (03-03-03-06-07-13) [6 wks]

14 (--) Nightwish - Turn Loose The Mermaids (14) [1 wk] - Obviously where my vote went. Still as epic as it was, although I think I've overplayed it, my BJSC entries always end up being hugely overplayed. First time my entry ended up being my favourite from the contest, as strong as it was.

15 (05) Gym Class Heroes feat. Neon Hitch - Ass Back Home (05-15) [2 wks]

36 (--) Nicki Minaj - Starships (36) [1 wk]

37 (--) Madeon - Icarus (37) [1 wk] - A lovely house track, are you not a huge fan? I thought it'd have been right up your street. Really beautiful (and reminds me of Levels in a good way)

38 (--) Jason Derulo - Breathing (38) [1 wk]

39 (--) The Ting Tings - Hang It Up (39) [1 wk]

Excellent chart.

Cheers Issac :D

03 (--) Foxes - Youth (03) [1 wk] - Foxes shoot back up on the multichart (along wish Prance Faris)! :o I liked this but not enough to give it points, it had only one amazing bit for me. Still a good winner, and the whole of the top 5 10 would have been deserving.

I really like 'Youth' and think it's a cracking pop song. Also think Dandy* was really wise to enter this track after it leaked as it was only mentioned mainly in the indie forum meaning this track would've been exclusive to pop fans. At least Dandy can claim a victory in BJSC. Oh, the pressure on his shoulders right now to avoid a Greenfroze and follow up a win with a BJSC final bottom place. :o

09 (--) Chiddy Bang - Ray Charles (09) [1 wk] - This isn't that good for me, I far prefer Opposite Of Adults, that was quite clever, not getting the same feeling with Ray Charles.

I couldn't stand 'Opposite Of Adults'. :o I didn't like the use of 'Kids' by MGMT. Hearing it all chopped up and scattered amongst the production made me feel very sad. MGMT 'Kids' was a #2 hit for me back in 2008 so obviously seeing 'OOA' do well when 'Kids' didn't really take off made it that little bit more gutting for me.

I really do adore this track yet it was discovered in a really strong context so even though it received 5 points (iirc?) off Batidas, there have been other contests where tracks have received more points I haven't liked as much by default because there haven't been that many songs I really liked. Expect to see Nightwish climbing up my chart. Currently, Nightwish's biggest hit in my chart is 'I Wish I Were An Angel' which peaked at #5. Let's see if this can equal that peak, or better it. :D

37 (--) Madeon - Icarus (37) [1 wk] - A lovely house track, are you not a huge fan? I thought it'd have been right up your street. Really beautiful (and reminds me of Levels in a good way)

'Icarus' reminds me of Daft Punk which is certainly no bad thing, I'd say that's a compliment. It is a tad repetitive though for this type of track so I feel a track like this would benefit from a short version that wouldn't even be 3 minutes long. I wouldn't personally describe this as "beautiful". Maybe I need to go back and have another listen. Bare in mind, I don't have this on mp3. I just listen to this on YouTube so I hope the version I've played it correct. (it's the video where it looks like a computer game that I've seen).

Ah right, interesting. Will you bend a rule to chart Euphoria if it doesn't get sent to Eurovision?

1. Prance Faris isn't signed to a record lable? Which lable is 'Flares' signed to? I've not been on iTunes to check but if it's available to buy, some record company must've picked up the track. :o

40. 'Embrace' was an absolute gem. I've just referred back to my achive of charts and this is the top 10 when 'Embrace' peaked at #3.

01 (01) Kings Of Leon - Sex On Fire

(01-01-01) [3 wks].

02 (--) Will Young - Changes

03 (06) PNAU feat. Ladyhawke - Embrace

05 (02) Eric Prydz - Pjanoo

09 (08) Alphabeat - Boyfriend

(02-02-05-08-09) [5 wks]

10 (--) James Morrison - You Make It Real

(10) [1 wk]

Interestingly, Ladyhawke was also #7 with 'Dusk Til' Dawn' the same week. :D

I'd like to think a "bended rule" wouldn't be needed. :P However, I've always charted Eurovision tracks after the final has been broadcast which would mean Loreen 'Euphoria' wouldn't chart until June 2nd 2012. :o This is purely going off previous years if I was to continue doing the same again this year. Maybe I'll have to reaccess this like I've done with BJSC and consider allowing my ultimate fave Eurovision tracks the chance to enter early. At the moment 'Euphoria' is the only Eurovision related song I have any interest in whatsoever. My chart might end up being completely transformed by the end of 2012. That said, my compiling process will stay true to how it always had - my absolute fave tracks will enter at #1 and big growers will climb to their peak.

1. Nope, it's self released. It is available on UK iTunes but you don't have to be signed to a record label to release a track to iTunes, it's very easy and cheap to do with this website: http://www.tunecore.com/ So if you ever fancy your Hitstastic originals on iTunes, and have a spare tenner to give it a worldwide release, you know what to do.some charts only require 2 or 3 sales to make the iTunes top 100, you could start a chart campaign in one of these countries and become famous :P

That's a bloody long time to leave Euphoria from charting, time for some rule bending to allow this masterpiece in post haste :drama: Every little helps in the multichart!
