Yes thanks Meg!

I have to say, I felt a huge sense of pride when he burst into italian(was it?) with his booming deep beautiful voice

Looks like vibrato's got mixed reviews this time from what ive seen on facebook. Some people saying D should stop doin jazz and go bk to what he used to do writing and singing his own music but some peolpe loved it. I agree in 1 way that D shud write and sing his own stuff after all that's why he turned down Simon Cowell's offer because he wanted to do his own stuff and not do any cover songs but on the other hand i think D should do whatever makes him happy and if jazz music is the way he wants to go then that's his choice and i'm sure that if that's the way the album turns out im sure the rest of us will love it. Remember do what makes u truely happy Darius :D

I haven't seen any reviews, polly. Do you have links? All I've seen are comments from fans, some of whom want him to dump the jazz.

IMHO he seems to genuinely like the genre and he has invested a lot of emotion, time, energy and creativity into it. I would never suggest he should just scrap all that and turn the musical clock back to 2002 - 2005. That just isn't going to happen. He's ten years older and a family man whose base is now in LA.

If music is his priority, rather than MT or straight acting at the moment, than he must make the album the top priority and crack on with it and get it out. However, he shouldn't expect much to come of it.

He has chosen a genre which doesn't appeal to a lot of his fans, me included. I had to force myself to go to THOTBB in Glasgow.

How is he going to promote it? A quick charm offensive around the radio stations and a few short interviews on daytime TV just isn't going to cut it. He has been away from the UK music scene for a very long time.

He either has to put it out there and let what happens, happen or invest a lot of time in live promotion gigs and a lot of time and money to raise awareness pre-release.

The latter would probably mean him signing contracts and being "guided" by others. I'm not at all sure he'd want to put himself in that position again. I suppose it depends how high a priority being a singer-songwriter still is.

At least with the former course of action, there would be one Darius (Campbell) album available to purchase for any fans, old or new.

No sorry thats what i ment ive seen the comments on facebook about some fans wanting him 2 dump jazz

Darius has enjoyed mixing it up and using his skills in so many ways, and doing it very well, so he's never going to please those fans who've tucked him into one labelled box of entertainment and want him to concentrate on that exclusively.

He won't, not yet, he's having too much fun. Why should he?

He's still pushing the envelope in both music and acting. He hasn't found the limit of his abilities yet.

Why should he go back and do something he's done before, unless there's something new and interesting to learn along the way or some personal attraction to a particular project? Money has never motivated him. He's done OK, doing it his own way.

I believe some people are fans of Darius's earlier music alone, and some are fans of Darius himself, and are enjoying along with him, his journey into acting and musical theatre. For those who loved his earlier music as I did, we'll always want more of the same. Darius said at the beginning of his career that he seeks recognition for his music; there can be no better compliment than wanting more of his own unique music, sung and written in his own style.

Although I don't like jazz as much, I do appreciate he sings it very well. However I don't understand why someone with a passion for music would keep putting it on the back burner to pursue other things. Okay so maybe his passion for acting is just as strong and he doesn't want to let an opportunity pass by, but surely at some stage he will need to prioritise one over the other.

No one in the entertainment business can maintain a career without the public support so whilst I agree in some respects he must do what he pleases and make his own decisions; I also think he shouldn't be to self indulgent and he should pay some attention to the expectations of his fans!

This is from 2010. I edited it to take the child out as I wouldn't put pics of someone else's child on the internet

I love the odd really small gigs he does. Tend to be acoustic and great but loved seeing him at the one I put up as well. He doesn't play the part he's supposed to be but is himself singing the songs
Thank you I love seeing your videos Megham :) Would you or anyone else have a video of Darius singing 'Make it Easy on Yourself' on Pop Idol. I would so love to see and hear that again!
