Darius was spotted sitting with Sheridan Smith at the 'Breakfast Club' yesterday so I would say 'Funny Girl' is fairly definite! :cheer: I do hope so - it is sold out until March and working with

Sheridan Smith will certainly bring him back into the public eye. From there it is supposed to be transferring to the West End so he is certainly going to be busy!! After that......the album!!?? :D

I can't wait to see him back on stage and that this means he is happy with life.

Hi BT........When they make changes to the book do they ever add new songs? I've read that Nicky doesn't have much to sing! Darius needs a 'big' song to get his voice really noticed I don't think

that really happened in GWTW or FHTE! I hope that this will be the break he needs to get proper recognition!

As far as I remember, Nicky does not even have one solo song. You are woman, I am man, is about the most he sings.

 

The showstopper will have to wait for another show.

 

Nevertheless, I think it's a good show for him to be part of - the first production of Funny Girl in London since the original one closed almost 50 years ago..

Yesterday Darius was home in Glasgow. He went to see his great friend and talented hairdresser Taylor Ferguson.

 

He attended the Great Scot Awards later.

Darius Campbell will be headlining the Ayr Christmas Light Switch On Show that will take place on Sunday 15 November 4-6pm in Ayr High Street. Darius who shot to fame on both Popstars and Pop Idol before going on to win ITV’s Popstar to Opera Star has carved a successful stage career in London’s West End and is currently preparing to appear opposite Sheridan Smith in a record breaking sell-out of Barbara Streisand’s Funny Girl.

 

Darius will top a fantastic Ayrshire line-up of talent on the High Street stage including Sean C. Kennedy, Three Card Trick, The cast of Ayr Gaiety panto ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ and Ayr Pipe Band Society. The event will be hosted by the hilarious Steve McKenna. The Karen Douglas Dancers will also perform at Ayr Fish Cross from 3pm – 3.30pm. Ho Ho Hope to see you there!
