March 12, 201213 yr Author BREAKING NEWS :w00t: In short, GO LOREEN!!! :w00t: It's starting to happen... :D Woot indeed! If only it was charting in the UK too - oh wait, it's not on iTunes here, bugger. I can't see anything stopping it winning right now. It's already probably got 48 points in the bag from Scandinavia! I'll pack my bags ready for Stockholm next May shall I :D 1. Loreen - Euphoria (1) (CR-1-1-1-1-1) 2. Björn Ranelid feat Sara Li - Mirakel (3) (CR-2-3-2) 3. Danny Saucedo - Amazing (2) (CR-2-3) Oh well, part of me hopes he tries again so we get more golden goodness like this - but part of me hopes he doesn't if he isn't going to win, as it's only going to be more gutting for Danny. 5. Gossling - Wild Love (4) (CR-4-4-5) Very good BJSC entry, not sure if it'll get points yet as I haven't listened to Semi 1 - but another solid FSR Rontvia track! 6. Charlotte Perrelli - The Girl (9) (CR-9-6) 7. Gotye feat Kimbra - Somebody That I Used To Know (6) (CR-60-48-44-39-OUT-27-19-13-9-2-1-1-1-2-2-3-3-2-5-6-7) 9. Calvin Harris feat Ne-Yo - Let's Go (NEW) (CR-20) REALLY good, once you get past the basic fact it's very similar to We Found Love - it's just a very anthemic track, 4/4 for him this era if you count We Found Love. 21. Taio Cruz feat Flo Rida - Hangover (54) (CR-54-21) 24. Prance Faris - Flares (16) (CR-31-15-9-2-3-3-1-2-3-8-16-24) 25. Azealia Banks - 212 (Re-entry) (CR-31-26-OUT-38-OUT-22-OUT-69) 73. Rizzle Kicks - Traveller's Chant (NEW) (CR-73) Thanks Rob, yeah Danny took the loss very hard, he was muttering on Facebook about it being a massive letdown because he'd been building up winning with this track in his mind for six months. Apparently he was also offered Euphoria besides Shout It Out before writing Amazing, but he said that it was more of a schlager song when he was first shown the demo. I guess Loreen and her people made it into something more Loreen-esque! Ooh nice to see you liking Wild Love, I wasn't sure if it would be your bag! Even if you don't give it points it's nice to see you liking my entries after a bit of a dry spell :D I wasn't quite so keen on either of Bounce or Feel So Close to be honest but I adore We Found Love and Let's Go is excellent too, not liking the hate that I've seen for it so far. I agree with you about Sparks, still, Twilight was an amazing pop song. 1. Loreen - Euphoria (1) (CR-1-1-1-1-1) 3. Danny Saucedo - Amazing (2) (CR-2-3) 4. Ria - The One (5) (CR-5-4) 6. March 12, 201213 yr I love that Gotye is seen as 'European music' when he's from Australia (granted via Belgium!). But I agree, anything will sell if people are exposed to it enough. Ai Se Eu Ti Pego would be huge here if given a proper push, maybe it still will get one? But there are at least 4 or 5 Melodifestivalen songs per year that could be huge here given half a chance and it annoys me that they never are. It's more European than usual :heehee: Actually I think that artists like Shakira and Paulina Rubio (if people have ever heard of the latter) are often seen as European, or at least not American. ASETP is slowly growing on me, I can see it getting a push in summer but by then it will be far too later. Agree, it looked a couple of years ago that labesl were finally taking an interest in the European scene but it really seems to have died off lately. I do agree with Hits' point too that the UK music scene is very incestuous, and tends to be full of greater or lesser copies of the current fad of the day, rather than genuinely original, interesting songs and artists. As for the iTunes Sweden chart, I'm most pleased for Thorsten. He wasn't charting at all last week

He wasn't charting at all last week  True, and I know what you mean about Shakira, I doubt many people in the UK are aware of Paulina though. I guess south America, Colombia, Argentina etc...seem more European than American, perhaps because they speak Spanish? I love ASETP, I've always been surprised that you don't but I can see that it would become irritating after a while if it does smash here. Indeed, I really thought that Release Me would be the breakthrough that Scandipop needed but instead it was just a glorious one off :( Totally agree with yourself and Hits there, the charts used to be full of variety but it's very much a number of examples from two or three genres that dominate now, purely because the public aren't being exposed to anything else, radio confuse me sometimes. As for Thorsten, well I've made my views clear elsewhere :heehee:
March 13, 201213 yr Thanks David :D 1. It is rather bizarre that it took you so long to be won over by Euphoria when you were always one of Loreen's biggest supporters before. I guess it took me by surprise in that respect but it hasn't let up so far, it's amazing! 3. Oh dear, I actually really do like it a lot, it's far better than the plain In The Club from last year which definitely didn't deserve to come anywhere near 2nd. I wonder if he'll enter MF again, maybe in a few years? 6. Yes, yes and yes. Definitely check out the album, besides The Girl and Little Braveheart, there's another GREAT song on there called In The Sun that also has a dubstep breakdown  18. Definitely not close to The Flood, it's an album track - I love it but it's very classic Katie. Beautiful song though. 26. Indeed, definitely one of my firm favourites from this month's contest, so thanks for entering it :D 35. Agreed on all counts, it seems like such an obvious thing to do and an easy way to go about doing an internal selection surely? 54. I didn't see the live final, nor have I watched the performance, I really like the song though! 62. It's not one of my favourites but it's charted alongside its single release. Shame that either one or both of Heartlines and Spectrum will never see the light of day though. And my personal favourite Breaking Down but I'm not expecting that to be a single. 67. It is, I never particularly got into it until I got the album actually. I'd have preferred National Anthem. 71. Indeed, it's hardly 'amazing' but I do like it. 3. Obviously he's rather upset right now, but I'd imagine he'll want to keep trying, maybe take a year off. (And let Måns have his moment :kink: ) 6. Amazingly it's on Spotify, In The Sun is amazing! :o I think Little Braveheart easily outstrips the rest, but that's just the combined powers of two europop icons :D 62. Spectrum was AMAZING live, I had a little moment. She even dedicated it to all the men in the audience (which was enough for me to forgive her giving my favourite Rabbit Heart away to the women) 71. It was tough to find! Apparently they think it's rubbish and don't want people to hear it  They're right really, it's not bad but I'd hope for better from a comeback.
March 13, 201213 yr Hey! My comments: 1. Loreen - Euphoria (1) (CR-1-1-1-1-1) So happy she won on Saturday and I really hope she can repeat a victory in Baku! I wonder how long it'll stay at the top of your chart for? :o 12. Lisa Miskovsky - Why Start A Fire (10) (CR-10-12) How did this end up coming last in the televote? :drama: 35. Mandinga - Zaleilah (NEW) (CR-35) A fantastic entry from Romania, it's good to hear a lot of really modern songs in the contest this year! 39. Cascada - Summer Of Love (NEW) (CR-39) A return to form for Cascada, and apart from a slight hint of Avicii in parts, I can't detect any sort of bandwagon jumping here either! 49. Redzz feat Leddra Chapman - Tables Turn (NEW) (CR-49) A second instance of Leddra making a rap song sound fantastic! It would be great if she included both this and Enemy Lines on her next album! 63. Nightwish - The Heart Asks Pleasure First (NEW) (CR-63) This is a wonderful adaptation of one of my favourite classical pieces 66. Military Wives - In My Dreams (NEW) (CR-66) Wig Wam cover? :kink: 67. Lana Del Rey - Blue Jeans (NEW) (CR-67) A surprising choice for the next single considering it was in effect a double a-side with Video Games. I was expecting Off To The Races to be the next release myself

I can imagine, it's a song that was made to be heard live, it's incredibly anthemic. I'm jealous that you saw her live, did she do a good mix of the two albums or mostly new stuff? 71. Oh really? It'll be a one week wonder in my chart anyway... Hey! My comments: 1. Then again if I was voting in Sweden she'd have been 4th in my list of priorities so maybe everybody liked her, but she was few people's favourite? 34. Indeed, I absolutely adore this, the sort of thing that could be huge in the UK anyway, and certainly around Europe! 39. Indeed, it's a great song and a lot like old-skool Cascada (with a hint of Romanian dance sounds in there somewhere!) 49. I suspsected that you'd like this and I agree in the respect that it makes a rap song sound fantastic as I don't think I'd be fussed on it without her! Not so sure that I want them on her album though, a couple of random rap collaborations would have stuck RIGHT out of Telling Tales and really ruined the flow. I guess it depends what sort of album it's going to be, I suspect it won't be as piano based as Telling Tales based on what we've heard so far. 63. What's it an adaptation of? :o 66. Haha, sadly not - I do like it though and it's not a cover, unlike the rest of the album! 67. Indeed, I'd have preferred National Anthem but at least this being a single has given me a chance to properly get into Blue Jeans, as I was never really that fussed in it before now. I'm sure it won't be huge for me with that in mind. Hi Rich, 1. Loreen - Euphoria (1) (CR-1-1-1-1-1) 7. 12 - I see what you mean! She'd have been my third favourite in the final. I was expecting Lisa to appeal to a lot of older viewers actually, but I guess maybe they decided to go with Thorsten or Top Cats :( 49 - Yeah, I can see your point. I think it'd be nice to have them as bonus tracks, or maybe she could record solo versions, ala Read All About It and Dido's Thank You, that would be pretty awesome! 63 - A song of the same name from the film The Piano 0dPS-EHl-FE Myleene Klass did a nice recording of it on her debut album, an album which I highly recommend! 66 - Oh it's not a cover? I'll have to check it out then! 67 - I charted Blue Jeans with Video Games, so I doubt I'll re-chart it as a separate entry now, especially when I've got so many songs I want to chart already :drama:
