So that's why I was in the thread last night willing for a Loreen victory. I reckon even had 'Euphoria' not won, I'd have kept my pre-release chart as it was. I'd say this song is too good for Eurovision but therefore it surely means it's got a very good chance of winning. Oh, and no. :P I can see why you'd think that but I think in these rare occasions where I really like a Eurovision entry, I can bend my own chart rules where required. :D As I mentioned last week, if I didn't this wouldn't qualify to enter my chart until 2nd June 2012 which just means by then I'd have got bored of the song, chart it high to compensate for all the weeks I did like it, then it'd plummet in week two. 01 (01) Prance Faris - Flares (01-01) [2 wks] Yay, not a one week wonder! :wub: Looks like we'll have a few matching #1's this year... Not at all, 'Flares' is an excellent dance track and in most cases I like my chart toppers to have at least 2 weeks at the top. Obviously I have had several "one week wonders" in my chart but they've either climbed to their peak so already built up a decent amount of points towards the YTD chart, or they stick around for quite a while after entering at #1 for its sole week. I still stand by a comment I made a while back that my fave BJSC entries can only be rivalled if there's a new single in the UK charts that I think is fantastic. 06 (05) Donkeyboy - City Boy (02-03-03-05-06) [5 wks] Have you heard their new song Pull Of The Eye? It's incredibly catchy, I far prefer it to this! On my iMac, I've realised I can switch stores to other countries to preview European hits. It was a mere experiment but it actually worked. :D So I listened to the preview of 'Pull Of The Eye' but couldn't really judge as it was just a 30 second clip. However, it didn't strike me as being as strong as 'City Boy' which I really do think is brilliant pure pop music. 11 (11) Lil' Wayne feat. Bruno Mars - Mirror (11-11-11) [3 wks] Three weeks at #1!?! That's unlucky! Three weeks at #1? :D I'll assume that's a typo. :kink: That's just the way my chart was compiled this week. StooShe's track I like slightly more, but 'Born To Die' is still a firm favourite. I've had a few tracks over the years stall at #11 for two weeks but I do think this is the first track to stall in this position for three weeks. 18 (--) Coldplay - Charlie Brown (18) [1 wk] Seems rather low following the huge hit for you that was Paradise :o Don't forget 'Paradise' entered at #10 before slowly climbing its way to #4 where the track peaked before spending absolutely ages inside my top 15. I don't think 'Charlie Brown' is as good as Coldplay's last two singles so this was never going to be a high peaking single in my chart. 22 (--) Tinchy Stryder feat. Pixie Lott - Bright Lights (22) [1 wk] In 2009 I loved everything from both of these acts but three years later and I'm not quite so in love with this collaboration, or their current solo output :drama: To be honest, I've never been a massive fan of either act but I quite like 'Bright Lights' for some reason. In fact, this track equals the peak of 'Mama Do' from 2009 so is therefore Pixie Lott's second biggest hit in my chart. :o Whereas Tinchy Stryder has previously scored four top 20 hits in my chart; 'Let It Rain' (#10), 'Never Leave You' (#11), 'Take You Back' (#12), 'In My System' (#16).

Even the tracks that only got small points were tracks I really enjoyed, and are still listening to. There's even songs I didn't give points to that are currently in waiting to enter my top 40 (see my Pre-Release chart :D ). I don't mind this song, like it enough to allow it to scrape into my top 40. First time I heard this I thought it was quite good until it got to the first chorus. Then I was just thinking "this is the chorus?" and it suddenly got very disappointing. It does sound like it's going to build up to this anthemic chorus but it just doesn't happen. So for me, this is a bit on the flat side and no remix will make it any more interesting. Same with 'Elephant' to be honest.

Usually when I see "yet another girlband" video for the first time on TV, I hear about 20 seconds and sigh wondering why any record company would even consider signing them. So it seemed quite refreshing when I saw StooShe's video for the first time. I like the retro motown sound that 'Love Me' has. The track is bonkers and clearly not meant to be taken seriously - they're like a comical Pussycat Dolls (or something like that :D ). For me, this is a promising debut single from StooShe but their second single might be absolute rubbish and if it is, it won't be making an appearance in my chart. :D 12 (14) Nightwish - Turn Loose The Mermaids (14-12) [2 wks] -Great to see this rising on its second week. *.* Oh yes!!! :D As I mentioned above, some of the January BJSC entries are still making progress in my chart including Nightwish so don't think this has peaked yet.
