March 20, 201213 yr Hey Ghosty, wow I LOVE Gabrielle's album cover :o My comments; 01 (01) Loreen ~ Euphoria ~ 7 [1-1-1-1-1-1-1] 02 (**) Team Me ~ Show Me ~ 1 [2] Interesting indie song, where did you find this? 04 (**) I Am A Camera ~ Factory Boys ~ 1 [4] I've downloaded this but not listened yet, hopefully I like it as much as your BJSC entry of theirs! 09 (**) Mandinga ~ Zaleilah ~ 1 [9] Such a great Romanian entry, I suspect this will be hanging around the high end of my chart for a while 10 (**) Pasha Parfeny ~ Lăutar ~ 1 [10] Wow, didn't expect this to be amongst your favourites :o I think it's awful but perhaps it will grow 18 (**) Rona Nishliu ~ Suus ~ 1 [18] I didn't like this at all, even in the studio version. Still such an OTT wail to my ears 37 (22) Eisblume ~ Für Immer ~ 2 [22-37] Aww :o Thought this might climb, it definitely will be in mine! 58 (**) The Band Perry ~ If I Die Young ~ 1 [58] A #2 in my chart WAY back in 2010, took so long to make it to the UK! 60 (**) Katie Melua ~ Better Than A Dream ~ 1 [60] Pleasant, but never made my top 75... How are you doing in The Countdown recently. What entries have you been sending?
March 20, 201213 yr 42 (27) Gotye feat. Kimbra ~ Somebody That I Used To Know ~ 6 [36-17-14-19-27-42] 60 (**) Katie Melua ~ Better Than A Dream ~ 1 [60]
March 20, 201213 yr Hi Martin :D 01 (01) Loreen ~ Euphoria ~ 7 [1-1-1-1-1-1-1] Wahey!!! :D I think it's usually rare that we share #1 singles but I'm sure you'd be delighted to know 'Euphoria' has entered my chart at #1 this week. Only six weeks behind everyone else but usually I chart Eurovision songs after the final - Loreen has broke the chart rule because this song is too good to hold back for another 12 weeks. :D 14 (**) Alexandra Burke feat. Erick Morillo ~ Elephant ~ 1 [14] I've really struggled to get into this. I've charted the remix version instead as it just sounds better and the vocals work better on that version. 34 (10) Stooshe feat. Travie McCoy ~ Love Me ~ 2 [10-34] I have to admit, when I first saw the video to 'Love Me', I thought they were from America. The video is quite gloosy and "big budget"esque for a debut act so obviously the record company have faith in them. It's a great track and I like the motown vibe in this track. 40 (31) Niki & The Dove ~ DJ, Ease My Mind ~ 2 [31-40] It's almost 12 months since 'DJ, Ease My Mind' was entered into BJSC. I take it you weren't all that keen on the song last year? This also peaked at #31 in my chart too but I charted it off the back of BJSC last May. 42 (27) Gotye feat. Kimbra ~ Somebody That I Used To Know ~ 6 [36-17-14-19-27-42] Judging from the chart run, I'm guessing you weren't a fan of the song when I entered this into BJSC last August? It's quite astonishing just how much of a grower this song. Even I didn't get it on first listen but now it's one of the biggest hits in my chart. 49 (52) Will Young ~ Losing Myself ~ 2 [52-49] Due to enter my chart this coming weekend, I must admit I'm not quite liking this at the same level I did with 'Jealousy' and 'Come On'. I find the video really bizarre to watch too. I guess bizarre videos are better than borings ones!!! :D 51 (26) Arcade Fire ~ Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains) ~ 5 [12-12-11-26-51] Ohh, is this a fairly recent track? I saw this on MTV Rock this morning and it certainly grabbed my attention. In fact, the video was already playing and I was quite shocked at the end when the said "Arcade Fire". I just didn't expect this track to be by them for some reason. The female singer reminds me of Bjork. There's a lot of songs here I don't know. I see plenty of Eurovision songs but I need to find time to listen to all this years contenders. Sweden is easily far ahead though. Ohh, I wonder if Engelbert will chart high up your chart next week. :o

Thanks Eyes! 10 - It's a very divisive song. Some love it, some hate it. I love it though! I can't see it not qualifying! 16 - It would have continued rising even if it was in Icelandic I think! I do really like the English version as well now, so it should be returning to the top 10 soon! 18 - I love the wailing! . There's so much emotion in the song, I absolutely love it! 19 - I think the physical did sell well over there, it was riding high on the CDON website and with the amazing b-side on it, I'm not surprised the Finn's went out in droves to buy it! 57 - It's pretty good, but she has had better. The Gabrielle album is as good as the cover for me :kink: 02 - I decided to buy their album on a bit of a whim after hearing a decent track a couple of months ago. This was one of many highlights on it, and luckily it was released as a single so I can chart it :D . The album is brilliant, but it is very Arcade Fire meets Patrick Wolf, so I'm not sure if it'll be your kind of thing. 04 - I think I prefer it personally! This is very similar to songs The Modern released, and therefore I naturally adore it! 09 - It is brilliant! A possible surprise winner if Europe's feeling in a party mood like in 2001! 10 - I loved it instantly, but it does appear to be one of the more divisive entries of the year! 18 - Shame :(, I love it! So much emotion! 37 - It might reclimb! It's always difficult for songs to maintain a good chart run at this time of the year. 58 - Blimey! I'm surprised it took this long actually, considering Lady Antebellum have been and gone! I would have thought this song would have been a hit around the same time as Need You Now! 60 - It's a very typical Melua track, certainly not anything as good as The Flood! I've not had great luck on The Countdown recently, the contest has taken a more indie turn and with the UK not having much of a good alternative scene, it's been difficult to find successful entries! I've entered a Cornish folk band, 3 Daft Monkeys this month with Days Of The Dance. My results over the past six months: Feb 12: Alice Gold - Runaway Love - 4th Jan 12: Breakage/Jess Mills - Fighting Fires - 13th Dec 11: Steps - Deeper Shade Of Blue :kink: - 35th Nov 11: The Saturdays - All Fired Up - 24th Oct 11: Jess Mills - Live For What I'd Die For - 7th Sep 11: Clare Maguire - The Sheild And The Sword - 6th And the winners: Feb 12: Spain: La Oreja de Van Gogh - Cometas por el cielo Jan 12: USA: Red Hot Chili Peppers - The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie Dec 11: USA: Lana Del Rey - Blue Jeans Nov 11: Iceland: Of Monsters and Men - Dirty Paws Oct 11: USA: Manchester Orchestra - Virgin Sep 11: Spain: La Oreja de Van Gogh - La niña que llora en tus fiestas The USA = The FSR Rontvia of TC :kink: Hi Martin :D 01 (01) Loreen ~ Euphoria ~ 7 [1-1-1-1-1-1-1] Wahey!!! :o Thanks Hits! :D 01 - Awesome! It seems to be doing really well all over the place, so hopefully by the time of the contest, it'll be a firm favourite across the whole of Europe before it's even performed! 14 - I find the ending of this version a little bizarre, but apart from that, I love it! 34 - It's a pretty cool track! It kind of picks up where the Dolly Rockers left off, but with a more urban sound! 40 - It didn't click with me at all back then! I think the mp3 of it was poor quality as well which probably didn't help! I like it quite a bit now! 42 - I didn't think much of it at all if I'm honest, nor did I rate it very highly during TBO, but then a couple of weeks over it suddenly clicked and I love it now! :D 49 - I haven't seen the video, but I do prefer the single mix of this song to the album version! 51 - It's very unlike any of their other tracks! It's quite old now, taken from last year's album, but it is the most recent single from them! Engelbert won't chart next week, but he should make his way in soon. I expect it'll peak in the top 20, but whether it'll go top 10 remains to be seen!

No, I doubt it would be based on that song. It's nice but I couldn't say that I LOVE it. 4. Ooh interesting, it's on my playlist for this evening so should come up for the first time in the next 20 minutes! 9. I can't see them going that far but I wouldn't object (well I would as it would mean Loreen not winning!), top 5/10 at least hopefully though! 10. Interesting that David compared it to Many Words For Love, which I actually agree with, and I know you hate that which is why I wasn't expecting you to like this  18. That's true, but my ears clearly can't handle TOO much emotion, or that voice - nails down a chalkboard to my ears :( 58. They left it too late, it's a great example of a country song, shame they never get any support in the UK besides Radio 2... 60. Indeed, that was a sublime track, still can't believe the BBC rejected it for ESC 2010, the fools! It's My Time - The Flood - I Can - Love Will Set You Free would have actually been a run of very high quality entries. Shame we had Josh instead to ruin it. Steps  Shame they didn't do so well! That RHCP song is absolute plodding crap, how did that win? How come La Oreja de Van Gogh are so popular? :o Although granted they've had a couple of hits on my chart...Never heard of Manchester Orchestra, any good?

It should be one of the more fun entries of the night! 10 - I don't really see it myself. It's a similar genre, but MWFL is far more frantic and all over the place than Love Me, and it was that aspect of MWFL that I disliked mainly. 58 - Radio 2 have the far superior playlist, it's just a shame their listeners never download music! Katzenjammer did a live set on Dermot O'Leary's show on Saturday, but it didn't have any effect on their Amazon sales ranking for I Will Dance, sadly :( 60 - Maybe they were scared it might win the whole thing - something I don't think they want to happen  . It is an almighty shame they rejected it though :( I agree, the RHCP win really baffled me. There wasn't really a clear winner that month though, so I think it won mainly by picking up numerous 5's and 6's from all the indie lovers, which there are a lot of! In terms of participants, think BJSC in reverse - Indie fans far outnumber pop fans. LODVG tend to do well because they appeal to both groups of people. Manchester Orchestra is grunge music, I hated it
