Posted March 21, 201213 yr HHcHYisZFLU In the distant future, two superpowers control Earth and fight each other for all the solar system's natural resources. When one side dispatches a team to a distant planet to terraform it for human colonization, the team discovers an indigenous race of bio-mechanoid killers. Ridley Scott, director of 'Alien' and 'Blade Runner,' returns to the genre he helped define. With PROMETHEUS, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race. Genre: Science Fiction Director: Ridley Scott Cast: Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace Release Date: June 8, 2012 =========== I think this is shaping up to be the biggest summer blockbuster movie of 2012, along with the new Batman movie. Love the trailer.

March 22, 201213 yr Forget John Carter, this will be the Sci Fi event of the year by a mile... Good to see Ridley getting back in the Sci-Fi saddle again...
March 22, 201213 yr Forget John Carter, this will be the Sci Fi event of the year by a mile... Good to see Ridley getting back in the Sci-Fi saddle again... especially as John Carter just looks ridiculous and terrible, fine for kids though I guess. This however has everything a blockbuster should have, all the right names, this should have the hype that Avatar unrightly got a few years ago.
April 26, 201213 yr I have seen the trailer and i loved it. and now i am planning to see this movie. with some of my friends...
April 26, 201213 yr I've seen the trailer many times now (before each film I've seen the last 3 weeks) - it really is something quite special. It's set my hopes very very high for the film though, but I'm sure it'll deliver. Great cast too.
June 1, 201213 yr WOW This whole thing was just so stunning and the special effects were RIDICULOUS. Was on edge for pretty much the entire thing especially when Elizabeth was having that thing extracted for her omg. I did think Guy Pierce playing that old guy was a bit odd though. Would have been so much better if they'd cast someone actually that age because I just kept realising how fake and odd it looked. Alien has been in my watch list for so long but I'm definitely gonna be checking that out now and thankfully I recognised that alien at the end enough to get the MOMENT.

June 2, 201213 yr Author OMG, this was amazing one of the best movies I've seen this year along with Avengers Assemble. I was hooked on from start to finish, and the plot was so easy to follow, great effects, great script, and all the characters blended well, there was never a dull moment in sight. Bit gory in places in the extraction pod, I was a bit queasy at the time. The ending without giving too much away leaves room for a sequel. I totally recommend it. Now bring on the Batman movie, after seeing Avengers Assemble and Prometheus.
June 2, 201213 yr It was good enough, but I felt I didn't really care too much about the characters involved. Charlize was a bit of a disappointment in it too. Definetly a 3/5 kind of movie imo.
June 3, 201213 yr A very clever movie that raises far more questions on the Alien mythos than it actually answers. Also has a nice line in the origin of man that neatly ties in with the Alien origin. Admittedly never reaches the heights of Alien but remains faithful, familiar and whilst never scary in the slightest it does have an air of menace about it. Plenty of room for a sequel although it really isn't necessary but I'd welcome one as long as it's handled by Scott or Cameron only. There are others that could do it justics probably but for me the Alien universe has been spolied before by great directors not getting it quite right (Ressurection is appalling and Alien3 could be better)
