The judge handling Britney Spears' consvervatorship wanted to meet with the singer to discuss her accepting a job with Simon Cowell's X Factor, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

As previously reported, Spears was in court Thursday with her dad Jamie Spears, and fianc, Jason Trawick.

Brit's conservators needed to get approval from the court for her to become a judge on the hit talent show. "Britney's team is almost ready to sign the contract for her to become a judge on X Factor. Before the contract is signed, the lawyers needed to get approval from Judge Reva Goetz, as all business transactions, contracts, etc., need to get formal approval," a source close to the situation tells RadarOnline.com. "Judge Goetz wanted to talk to Britney in person to make sure this is something that she wanted to do, and that she was capable of doing. The judge was extremely impressed and Britney is very, very excited to become a part of Simon Cowell's show. The judge signed off on the deal.

"Under terms of the contract, Britney will be paid around $15 million a year. She will travel out of state for auditions, as long as it doesn't interfere with her custodial time with her sons. The boys will be allowed to come to the set whenever Britney wants them there. Her sons are her number one priority. Jason has been heavily involved in the contract talks," the insider says.

A formal announcement about Spears joining the show will be made in the next two weeks.

I dont know how I feel if this is really happening. I think it would be gret for the public to kind of get to know her again, but I cant see the press being kind and that seems to be the only good thing about her keeping so quiet lately.
I think it would do wonders for her public image outside of pop music fans. I still think a lot of people still see her as unstable, and this would really help to eliminate that.
Fingers crossed this actually happens now. I'm really looking forward to it.

See I'm pretty much divided on my opinion on this (whether or not it's since been deemed untrue). On the one hand I love Britney and she can do no wrong in my eyes. But there again I really can not see how she would deal with certain stipulations that will be required of her as a judge. How will she deal with sending acts home? Will her personality shine through? I think this really would be make or break for her... I'm unsure whether she would be able to endure the schedule and the role itself. She obviously is 'qualified' for the post but hm.. Maybe I'm unsure due to her more or less total lack of 'real' interviews since her breakdown (for the record aside).
If this is indeed happening, I PRAY she has some personality and spark in her and that she comes across as likeable as possible (because she is/was always a very likeable person.) If people see her sitting there uninterested with very little to say, it'll be a waste of a huge opportunity to get her properly out there again.
