It won't be free to download, they just don't know how much it will be yet  My choir might be performing/recording a version of Sing, which would be cool. But I don't think Gary will miss his shot at the top spot with this...

On a side note, I love how it includes God Save The Queen (National Anthem). NO IT'S A SEX PISTOLS COVER

Money is no issue, chart positions under his solo name may be,what do you think?
Could very well be, but i hate this mixed up relesaes, i just wish they would announce whats happening so we know whats what.
That would be ideal, it does appear to be a messy release. Surely it is not that hard to organise a straight forward release when working in the industry for so many years?

Now that would be cool! I loved the Sex Pistols' God Save The Queen! I doubt Gary would want to harm his chances of a possible New Year's honour though.

Seriously though - Andrew Lloyd Webber and Gary Barlow are musicians (ALW moreso) they are NOT lyricists. So I do wonder just who will have had major input into this. I can't help but think the tune will be a bit pants though - BUT - I may be proven wrong! You never can tell!

BTW - I've listened to Gary's HCTS a few times now (when the ad's been on telly) I hate it! There was something wonderfully hesitant, nervous and vulnerable about George Harrison's vocal on this - and Gary's vocal just comes across as pleadingly earnest.

Sorry Kath but have you listened to the lyrics in back for good, patience and never forget? In my view that proves he is a fantastic lyricist.

I dont like Harrison's HCTS at all to be honest with you. Gary does it justice in my opinion. Rather him cover it than someone else who completely revamps it.

The lyrics to BFG and NF are, admittedly good (in fact - the lyrics to NF are excellent). But the lyrics to his other songs have been adequate at best and downright silly at worst (I'm thinking Sure - although again - the tune more than makes up for it). Even when I did like Gary Barlow (believe me - there was a time when I did) I always asserted that lyrics were his weakest point (I think he'd even admit it himself).

For me - Harrison's HCTS is excellent - and the definitive version. If I were to single out a cover of it that was excellent - it would be Steve Harley's Cockney Rebel - at least they did something different with it. I'm afraid Gary's is just boring - but it is adequate for the ads.

Personally I find the song itself boring, so Gary or anyone else for that matter cant do much with it imo. Songs like Everything Changes, Pray, RTW to name a few along with BFG,Patience and NF are all very good, he is a strong songwriter without question Kath. Without him TT wouldnt have created or sold the music/records they have.

Just look at Progress/ed for an example of what happens when Gary just writes the music and lets Robbie and Mark crack on with the lyrics! You get rambling and random lyrics all over the place, Gary is the lead songwriter for that reason.

Lyrics wise i like some songs and understand them, not all of Gary's lyrics have been great but i would say that for most song writers, i guess it just depends sometimes on the mood we are in or how we can connect with a certain song or lyric.

As for here come the sun, i wouldn't be a huge fan of the song, then again i never was a huge fan of anything from the Beatles or there solo work, while i like a scattering of songs i wouldn't be a fan of them at all. Here comes the sun whether sung by Gary or not is not what i would generally called a song i would really like.

My problem with the Beatles is, the songs i like and enjoy i love them, the ones i dont like i hate, here comes the sun is one of those songs that provides emptiness for me. Garys version is no different.
Gary's Sing has been added to the Radio 2 a-list, is it available to hear yet?
Seeing the Gary Barlow solo name on the playlists is lovely to see again. That said, i would love Gary to announce if he has any further plans to do more solo material. From an album perspective between all these songs and shame he nearly has an album worth done already. At this present time Gary could easily get a solo platnum album to his credit if he was to do it.

Im not sure whether it will chart as an EP on the single chart or album chart (if it charts at all) or whether sing will appear as a single on the single charts..

I hope it does, I think the idea of a song uniting the Queen's Commonwealth together for her Jubilee is fantastic. It's actually a very strong song as well, I didnt think I would like it as much as I do to be honest. The Military Wives did a great job on vocals and the composition music and lyrics are spot on

Gary will draw sales on his own name as will Military Wives etc, the fact its for common wealth will also draw sales and then you will hav ethe casual buyer so hopefully it will do ok and all going well will add another top 10 hit to Garys solo chart discography bringing his solo total to 5.
