Currently number 4 on itunes, i think if he can remain top 5 on itunes until tomorrow night he will stay top 5 as he had a good lead on sunday, but either way sales for this week shudnt be far of 30,000, but im hoping more. Album wise very hard to call but the midweeks are available tomorrow so that will give a good indication.
Number 5 now on itunes but the second version will always give it that bit of an extra boost when counted in. I look forward to the full midweeks later so see how Gary will hold up in the album chart.

Gary at number 3 in the mids! At least he wont fall out of the top 10 as i feared

He is also still number 1 in the album mids! holding off Usher!! :cheer: Can't imagine Usher is selling many copies then, Id be suprised if Sing sells 20k this week

Didnt think Sing would be number 1 at all in the album midweeks, sales will without doubt be low, even if Gary isn not number 1 he will remain top 3 which is alot greater than i expected.

So happy to see it still number 1 in the albums, not sure if it will hold on but i didnt even expect to be a midweek number 1 this week.

The single version is starting to drop fast now, its #7 on itunes but i still think/hope it will remain top 5 on sunday.

Gary holds the number 1 album! :cheer: and the single is at number 3! :cheer:

Im so relieved, I thought that Gary would have had the biggest falling number 1 single this year (Cover Drive - Twlight fell from 1-6) but falling to number 3 is respectable!

Like i said im over the moon that Gary has held onto the number 1 album despite new releases from Usher and Amy Macdonald

I am also thrilled with his positions, i expected the single to be number 4 or 5 i thought the album may be number 1 but could be number 3. In a way there is a part of me that would have prefered if he was number 2 or 3 in the albums this week as i would prefer a chart run of 1-1-3-12 rather than 1-1-1-18 if you know what i mean.

Single wise sales have to be well over 200,000 as it was on about 175,000 last week and i would say he would have managed in or around 40,000 this week so i would say he will be in or around 215,000, he could managed 300,000 yet. Album wise sales could be as low as 19-20,000 but again im happy with that as total sales will be very near 135,000. Combiined sing will have total sales of 350,000 this week so in total at the very worst it will manage 400,000. I dont think anyone can be disapointed.

Funny enough, my daughter who is almost 11 hated the song but she is like oh i kind of like it now, i think sing has grown on some people and its selling as a song rather than a jubilee thing, so it could surprise yet and have a lot better chart run than we expected and maybe im in la la land but in total it may eventually manage 500,000.

Solo wise between singles and albums Gary now has 7 weeks at number 1 between all his material.

Sales are in...Sing sold 47,932 this week bringing up the total to 222,862

Sing also becomes the first number 1 album to stay at the top of the charts for 3 weeks since 21. It sold 28,159 totalling 143,717 so far!

Look how close 2nd and 3rd were though!!

2 Amy MacDonald 26,981

3 Usher 26,965

I agree Pete i think we should definitely see 400,000 total sales from the single and the album which i think is fantastic! I think that the album may even reach 200k at some point if it sells the same for the next couple of weeks or so. But it's fantastic nonetheless

Funnily enough my wife says that same thing about Sing, she wasn't too sure of it and preferred the Gary version over the commonwealth version but still said it was weak. Now she won't stop singing it around the house  I think it's great that the song is finally changing peoples opinions and the nearly 50k of sales and a top 3 place this week certainly suggests it has done that!

Impressive sales that are a delight to read. I would also be in agreeance on the sales figures and the 400,000 suggestion could very well happen. It does appear the song is widening its appeal which is very beneficial. In terms of the album version 200,000 would be wonderful and it is looking almost possible now, that said if sing could hold up for just a couple of weeks it could go platnum eventually.

Number 6 in the album chart this week AND

Number 9 in the singles chart.

I just hope it can stay top 10 in the album chart.l

I reckon i will at least stay at 6 Pippa, it could even move up to 5th if the sales of the above were frontloaded this week.

I think the single is going to fall out though unfortunately, it'll prob end up back at 11 or 12 but with sales of hopefully another 20k. If it can hang on for another month in the top 40 then it could break into the 300k mark which would be great.

But at the end of the day if you would have said to me a couple of months back that Gary would have a number 1 single with sing that would sell nearly 230k in 3 weeks and then a number 1 album that has topped the chart for 3 weeks and sold over 100k copies i wouldn't of believed it! Anything else now is a bonus

Ya anything from here on in is a bonus, i agree i think the single will end up number 12 this week but will have at least 20,000 sales bringing its total very near to 245,000.

Album wise is hard to call as i fear it will fall fast, last week i did say i was happy it was number 1 for a 3rd week but at the same number 2 or 3 might have been better as a drop from number 1-10 or 11 is seen as far worse than a drop of 2-11 if u know what i mean. But as we said here on in is a bonus, at worst the album will sell in or around 10,000 this week which would bring its clearly over 150,000. I still think when both are combined sing will eventually pass 500,000.

I agree, it could defo top 500k at some point as a joint unit. The album one is difficult to call as the sales are so low, Gary could in theory stick around in the top 20/30/40 for 3 or 4 months yet if he keeps selling around 5k a week.

In all honesty i cant see Sing the single staying around for too much longer, i think after this week it'll drop into the 20's, then late 30's then out of the top 50 but im over the moon with how its all worked out, especially as we were all resigned to the fact that at the start the release was all messed up and all over the place. The fact it all came together nicely was fantastic

Im quiet surprised by how well it has come together as initially i though tit was looking disastrous.
Sing is number 11 in the singles chart and number 6 in the album chart. This is quiet a good result as i believed the album would drop much lower, the big drop next week is enivitable though. However holding four weeks in the top 10 is nothing to be laughed at with solid sales top back up the chart run.
