September 30, 201212 yr Author Oh and "99 Revolutions" off ¡TRÉ! sounds MASSIVE. They've been playing it in encores sandwiched between "American Idiot" and "Good Riddance" recently, so they clearly know it as well. cvvJwGNLyhI
October 7, 201212 yr Author ¡UNO! in a nutshell: the first three songs remind me why I fucking love this band and will be staples for years to come. The rest I will probably listen to occasionally in the same way that I give Kerplunk! and Nimrod a spin every few months.
October 29, 201212 yr WHAT A MESS. TRE's american release date has been pushed forward to December 11, as a compensation for cancelling all shows until Feb, due to Billie Joe's issues.
October 29, 201212 yr Author Uh oh, that's their top 10 streak over then. They really should have released it as an entire package. On the other hand, YAY for more GD this year.
October 29, 201212 yr They really should have released it as an entire package. You think there won't be one eventually? The thing is they should have started with releasing Uno in February, Dos in May, Tre in September and a boxset in November in time for Christmas. This is wrong planning and I can't see the albums selling over half a million in total.

This is wrong planning and I can't see the albums selling over half a million in total. Oh I'm sure there will be, you got one when you pre-ordered them as a package anyway. And yeah you're right, that would have made far more sense. The only reason for doing it this way (short of one of the singles catching fire and propelling them to huge sales over Christmas which was always unlikely) would be to nab a #1 in the January lull and that's not going to happen.
November 12, 201212 yr To be honest they kinda had a fused outlook on how to make Uno- On one hand, they thought 'YEAH GUISE LET'S GO BACK TO BEING PUNK CAUSE EVERYONE CALLS US SELLOUTS', and on the other hand, 'We still want to make sh*tloads of cash'. SO they kinda cross-met in the middle and they produced some kind of pop-rock album that really, is a bit rough round the edges and doesn't hit hard for me. Kill The DJ was an anthem but the lyrics didn't do anything for me and it held a repetitive drone; Carpe Diem was their 21st Century Breakdown stuff in a nutshell and there aren't any other memorable ones for me! I listened to the leaked version of Dos! And... well, they've had their (green) Day.

What do you think about the concert when Billie Joe Armstrong lost it? :kink:
November 12, 201212 yr That's a really good review actually. What do you think about the concert when Billie Joe Armstrong lost it? :kink: Ahahaha! All i've got to say to that is that he's NOT F*CKING JUSTIN BIEBER! We can kind of tell that, because the majority of his fans aren't squealing pre-pubescent girls, of which the only hair they've ever got is that off a Bratz Customize boxset. Nah but seriously, he was abusing substances and he shouldn't have flipped out, but honestly that just heightened his image as a rockstar... and a bit of a violent dwarf.
November 13, 201212 yr Back in the real world, Dos! is a good Foxboro Hot Tubs record. Not trying to start an argument but what do you mean? Didn't he raise some good points with his first post?
November 13, 201212 yr Author Not really, the whole sellout thing hasn't really rung true since they wrote a song about it in 1995.
November 13, 201212 yr Fair enough, just my opinion on what I think the styles are like. of course an uber-hardcore Green Day fan would probably have to disagree on what I said, since I only know my two cents :P
November 22, 201212 yr I'm loving Amy so far, it's up there with Good Riddance and Macy's Day parade when it comes to green days best slow/accoustic songs.
December 4, 201212 yr Author Yeah, ¡DOS! is patchy but I'm still hopeful that the best is yet to come. If we're playing the "imagine what an amazing single album this could have made" game, I'll start: 01 See You Tonight 02 Nuclear Family 03 Stay The Night 04 Carpe Diem 05 Oh Love 06 Lazy Bones 07 Stray Heart 08 Ashley 09 Amy 10 (¡TRÉ! track) 11 (¡TRÉ! track) 12 (¡TRÉ! track) 13 99 Revolutions 14 The Forgotten
December 4, 201212 yr Author ^Where is F*ck Time? It's the best Dos track along with Stray Heart. Not a fan at all, it's the weakest on there except for "Nightlife" to me.

It's a shame everywhere seems to be promoting only ¡UNO! and ¡DOS! in the sales, ¡TRÉ! really doesn'y deserve to be the floppy one.
