Posted April 18, 201213 yr The title tells us all we know. Given Skream has produced the lead single 'Distance' I'd say it's safe to assume she's continuing down the dancey path and going for something dubsteppy. I adore this woman both musically and personally (so many batshit crazy moments) Certainly cannot wait for this. Edited April 18, 201213 yr by يعقوب
April 18, 201213 yr I remain underwhelmed by Flesh Tone which is strange because most of the ingredients were there but the songwriting wasn't up to her usually-impeccable standards. I'd hoped she would make a record that fuses R&B with dance music. Whatever it is probably won't top Kelis Was Here but I can dream.
April 18, 201213 yr I bought Flesh Tone for 2,50 euro a few weeks ago and I rather liked it, especially 4th of July. I hope this album is in the same style and even more consistent.
April 18, 201213 yr This woman never fails to impress me, certainly cannot wait for this, I mean Skream being involved can only mean extra amazingness! With Skream involved, a dubsteppy sound could be really great!
April 18, 201213 yr MEGA excited for new Kelis. She always delivers the goods and Flesh Tone was GOLD. Skream is not someone I would think of as being good with her but I anticipate this anyway and it's nice that she's experimenting.
April 18, 201213 yr I'm not familiar enough with Skream to comment, but dubstep is far more miss than hit for me, but we shall see. Flesh Tone is infinitely better than any of her other albums though, so at least she's sticking with the dancey sound. We can but hope there's something as amazing as Acapella this time round.
April 18, 201213 yr I'm not familiar enough with Skream to comment, but dubstep is far more miss than hit for me, but we shall see. I seconded that when asked what I thought of Skream working with her by a friend today, it's either gonna be really good or a bit bleh. However, dance Kelis is a triumph - "Flesh Tone" was a SOLID SOLID album no matter what the haters say. Just stunning.
April 18, 201213 yr Dubstep is GONE. Flesh Tone was SO good, i basically just want another one of those please
April 19, 201213 yr Author Like Skream is making La Roux remixes and living like it is 2007 still or whatever. I'm sure Kelis has moved on and so should we...
April 19, 201213 yr ! Gwen and Nelly releasing like it's oh six all over again and Kelis and the Scissor Sisters releasing like it's the early summer of oh ten (obviously they were in oh six too but LESS STELLAR), these people are trying to drag me back to two amazing times to be alive musically. basically dying of happiness right now.
April 19, 201213 yr I didnt like Flesh Tone at first but it grew on me like crazy, all the songs were really well produced and super catchy especially 4th of July, Home and Brave. I really loved 'Bounce' as well, so i'm excited to hear she's sticking with the dance sound.
April 19, 201213 yr Skream helped produce Easy Please Me by Katy B, which is a song I LOVE. So maybe something more in that direction.
April 19, 201213 yr Can't wait to hear this new Kelis song! Hopefully with Skream production it will sound really fresh and not a copy of everything else in the charts. I never really got into 'Acapella' but 'Bounce' was in my top 10 of last year so I'm expecting good things from her.
April 20, 201213 yr SO EXCITED. Definitely one of my favourite artists. 'Flesh Tone' was one of my favourite albums of that year, definitely helped by seeing her about five times in that year.! She is so amazing live. I'm glad she's sticking to the more dancey sound, 'Flesh Tone' is her most solid album imo.

I suppose it's heartening to know that somebody still enjoys the Scissor Sisters.
