Everyone believed Rybak would win, it's hard to find someone who believes Loreen will.

He said if he was judging it on the rehearsal ALONE though, therefore taking out its chart performance from the equation. I doubt he really thinks it's a potential non-qualifier.

There's also a video of him floating about saying that it will only get through the semi because of the FANZ voting in force...

He's so frustrating with whatever he has against Sweden every year and it's like he blanks everyone else out sometimes (see below statement). He can be a very good source of info at times but ugh. I learnt now to trust any of his predictions in 2010 when Lena won which he didn't see coming at all (but we could).

OH REALLY?!

He COMPLETELY lacks the ability to be objective. If he doesn't like a song, it's not going to do well. I don't like Party For Everybody but I can see that it's a shoe-in for the top five, I adore Beautiful Song but it's an obvious DNQ! Indeed, he was exactly the same with Lena - poor vocal blah blah, not coming top half of the scoreboard because of the poor vocal. It was a great vocal actually, just not to his tastes, and it was obviously coming top 10 at the very least, top 3 when the pre-contest hype was factored in. Everything he predicts to do well always fails and vice versa, I remember he thought that Spain 2010 would be a contender because it was one of his favourites and had 'a great vocal'. It was performed twice and could still only finish 15th

Keith basically resents anything Sweden sends that isn't an uptempo europop schlager stomper sung by a busty blonde wearing a pink feather boa. Nearly everything he writes is complete nonsense, it's almost as if he doesn't want to accept that Eurovision is no longer about camp, kitsch europop tunes and so he bashes anything even remotely modern sounding (unless Ireland is sending it of course).

I was quite surprised at his comments for our entry. He was actually quite complimentary; he usually predicts us to fail regardless of what we send.
Any reason why they have lowered the register for the full song? Nothing wrong with the rehearsal, but the whole song doesn't sound as good now and it seemed like he was wanting to sing in the original key? :(

I think you've got him a bit wrong! If anything he really resents the uptempo europop schlager stompers and LAUDS stuff for being 'contemporary sounding' - he can't STAND Charlotte Perrelli et al, and has hated pretty much every Swedish entry I can recall (although you're right in that he loves the Swedish-written Irish entry without fail every year), whereas he loves stuff like Sean Banan (he said it would be their best entry in years) and Trackshittaz. He really looks down on the schlager fans of the contest a lot of the time...

Maybe I'm thinking of someone else then! I always thought he was once of these traditionalist fans who like the stereotypical Eurovision entries, but obviously not then! Either way, what comments I do remember reading of his have been absolutely ridiculous, none more so than the recent Loreen remarks!

That's even WORSE than what Ghosty was thinking.

I LOVE Sean Banan but I would NEVER say something as idiotic as this.

Engelbert's second rehearsal was much better. Could we do the unthinkable?!

This is musically our strongest entry in such a long time, and this IS a song contest so hopefully it will do really well, it has such a 'classic' sound to it. He has a lot going against him though, the early draw, his age/relevance and whether he'll appeal to televoters etc...I'm just hoping for top ten but I'm not sure if it'll even get that at this point, fingers crossed!

I can see us picking up a lot of sixes and sevens to be honest... Hopefully we can get over the one hundred mark and finish top ten. Definitely not to be sniffed at after Lena pipped us to a top ten finish last year!

I just hope he nails that final note on the night. He's still missing the very last part of the high note as he's a note off key which could a bit damaging. Other than that, it's a solid performance.

It sounds like a song that will score well with the international juries.

Better than yesterday anyway! Hopefully he'll be able to get it perfect by the night! :D
I've only just realised they've taken the song down a key for the Eurovision performance. 'Sognu' had the same treatment and it fell flat on Eurovision night. :(

What a redundant statement since all juries voting for Engelbert will be international :kink:

I just like to state the obvious. :D
