A well-deserve accolade for one of the best songs from recent years.
'Moves Like Jagger' will get there quicker. On over 140,000 already from Dannyboy's calculations. I heard it three times during 6 1/2 hours at work today (one less than 'We Found Love') :manson:
Slight embellishment there... :P

Problem is, none of their recent stuff has been anywhere near as good, IMO.

'This isn't everything you are' and 'In the End' are better in my opinion

Still love 'Chasing Cars' personally, I don't really hear it all the time anymore because I don't listen to radio, so it sounds just like a classic to me, as opposed to still overplayed.
I'd like to see a chart where sales have been divided by airplay and we'll see what comes out on top.

How anyone can separate it from the average Coldplay song is beyond me.

I remember hearing it on the album before it became a single and thinking it was awful so it's not just the airplay and sales that make me dislike it - I disliked it from the start

Liked it at first....hated it.....liked it....hate it and ironically as I type it's being played on the radio :arrr:

The thing is, as we know radio station playlists are dictated by faceless men in suits who are obviously recession proof and get paid a fortune. This is the same faceless suits who moved all the local football commentary to DAB and MW leaving the three Birmingham clubs to carve out who is on what therefore those fans like myself who can't afford to go the game lose out as I live in an area with a poor MW signal.

However....my local station does play their version of "Run"......waaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than Leona's disney ballad version.

I used to like this song, but I have heard it so many times by now that it's become quite annoying.

Me too. They did a set on Radio One to promote Eyes Open and I took an instant dislike to it. Eyes Open has so many great songs I don't know why this one keeps getting the nod.
