Let me entertain 5000 more of you at Hampden, says Robbie

FANS of Robbie Williams have been given another chance to snap up gold-dust briefs for his two Glasgow shows.

Thousands of extra tickets for the superstar's sold-out Hampden Park gigs have been released by concert promoters. DF Concerts will sell the final lot of briefs on Friday for the gigs on September 1 and 2. The extra allocation of between 5000 and 6000 tickets have become available after the full capacity for the shows was finally agreed.

The news is likely to spark a scramble among thousands of Robbie fans in Scotland after previous shows sold-out in hours.

Support for the 55,000- capacity show comes from Basement Jaxx and Orson.

The Evening Times told last October how Robbie is due to appear at the National Stadium next month, kicking off his five-month tour at the Glasgow football ground. When the briefs were released, internet ticket touts sold them for up to £300 each.

However, the gigs sparked controversy after it emerged one of the dates clashed with the Scotland football team's first Euro 2008 qualifying tie at Hampden.

The SFA was forced to find an alternative venue for the September 2 clash with the Faroe Islands.

National football chiefs looked at both Ibrox and Celtic Park as possible venues for the fixture, before deciding that the East End stadium would host the match.

Tickets for the gigs are available by calling the SECC box office on 08700 13 26 52 or logging on to www.secxtra.com

They can also be bought on the Ticketmaster Scotland website: www.scotland. ticketmaster.co.uk or by calling 0870 169 0100. Tickets are priced £40, £42.50 and £45.
