April 24, 201213 yr Probably the toughtest group for Team GB males. D looks quite tricky as well, although with ours I'm not too up to speed on how good Senegal and UAE are.
April 24, 201213 yr D looks quite tricky as well, although with ours I'm not too up to speed on how good Senegal and UAE are. Depends whether Senegal bring Cisse and Ba really. Either way in theory we should qualify.
April 24, 201213 yr Author Uruguay will probably top the group, but yep I'm not too familiar with Senegal or UAE either You'd expect we'd be able to get through the group, but with Stuart Pearce in charge I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't
April 24, 201213 yr Uruguay have confirmed that three of their four main stars will definitely go. I'd imagine it'll be Lugano as a defender and two of Forlan, Suarez and Cavani rather than the trio of attackers.

July 2, 201213 yr Poor squad, lots of average players in there. He must be really against taking 18/19/20 year olds cos there are some good ones that have been totally over-looked.
July 5, 201213 yr Full athletics team: MEN 100m Adam Gemili James Dasaolu Dwain Chambers 200m Christian Malcolm James Ellington 400m Martyn Rooney Conrad Williams Nigel Levine 800m Andrew Osagie Michael Rimmer 1500m Andy Baddeley Ross Murray 5000m Mo Farah Nick McCormick 10000m Mo Farah Chris Thompson 110m hurdles Andy Turner Lawrence Clarke Andrew Pozzi 400m hurdles Dai Greene Jack Green Rhys Williams 3000m steeplechase Stuart Stokes 4x100m relay Adam Gemili James Dasaolu Dwain Chambers Christian Malcolm James Ellington Danny Talbot Simeon Williamson Mark Lewis-Francis 4x400m relay Martyn Rooney Conrad Williams Nigel Levine Dai Greene Jack Green Richard Buck Luke Lennon-Ford Rob Tobin Marathon Scott Overall Dave Webb Lee Merrien High jump Robbie Grabarz Pole vault Steve Lewis Long jump Greg Rutherford Chris Tomlinson Triple jump Philips Idowu Javelin Mervyn Luckwell Discus Lawrence Okoye Brett Morse Abdul Buhari Shot put Carl Myerscough Hammer Alex Smith Decathlon Daniel Awde 50km walk Dominic King WOMEN 100m Abi Oypitan Anyika Onuora 200m Abi Oypitan Anyika Onuora Margaret Adeoye 400m Christine Ohuruogu Shana Cox Lee McConnell 800m Lynsey Sharp 1500m Laura Weightman Lisa Dobriskey Hannah England 5000m Jo Pavey Julia Bleasdale Barbara Parker 10000m Jo Pavey Julia Bleasdale 100m hurdles Tiffany Porter Jess Ennis 400m hurdles Perri Shakes-Drayton Eilidh Child 3000m steeplechase Barbara Parker Eilish McColgan 4x400m relay Christine Ohuruogu Shana Cox Lee McConnell Marilyn Okoro Nicola Sanders Emily Diamond Marathon Paula Radcliffe Mara Yamauchi Claire Hallissey Pole vault Holly Bleasdale Kate Dennison Long jump Shara Proctor Triple jump Yamile Aldama Javelin Goldie Sayers Hammer Sophie Hitchon Heptathlon Jess Ennis Louise Hazel Katarina Johnson-Thompson 20km walk Johanna Jackson The women's 800 is a joke and I'm at a loss as to why the 400m hurdlers aren't in the relay squad when the men's are (and Shakes Drayton has run loads of relays over the last couple of years), but otherwise that looks like a pretty strong team. Obviously there's a list of obvious medal contenders but outside of those I'm looking forward to seeing: Men's 4x100 (provided they can get the baton round twice they'll be in the mix, 4th in the world this year) Men's 4x400 (a team of Levine-Williams-Greene-Rooney is shit hot and a definite contender for silver) Women's 1500 (the last two Worlds silver medallists, although questions over their fitness)
July 5, 201213 yr Author Brazil's football Olympic squad is unreal. Thiago Silva, Marcelo, Hulk, Neymar, Pato, Sandro etc.. all involved. They have to be the clear favourites with Uruguay and Spain just behind and GB play them in a friendly soon. That could get ugly especially with Stuart Pearce in charge
July 8, 201213 yr Charles Van Commenee is a right knob head. Why leave Jenny meadows and Maralyn Okoro out? Perri should be in the relay. He's really messed it up. If 3 people have the times, just put them into the sodding discipline.
July 9, 201213 yr Wow Paula Radcliffe she hasnt ran in a age. I hope she does well. I think the best gold hopes on the track are: Jessica Ennis Heptathlon she isnt guaranteed gold but she is the hot favourite but she will definetely medal. Philip Idowu: Again v v v good chance of gold but should medal. Robbie Grabarz: World leading jump. Have a chance in the female long jump 2. I can see the footie team doing well 2 Iam personally glad Beckham wasnt picked it would only take away from the team element of the squad with the media turning it into the Beckham show.
