Well, I've sent my votes but I've not discovered a 'Nova' this month (ie; a standout highlight amongst lots of very good songs). Even though I'm sure my entry is likely to fare quite average (I suspect it's one of those tracks others have regarded as blending into everything else), it's still by far one of my favourite songs in this edition of UP.

There seems to be lots of 6/10 tracks and very few really terrile ones. I think I prefer my own entry to everyone elae's.

Can't say I particularly like anything in this lot. Even my own choice I now feel is the wrong song by that act

I just found something even better, I wish I came across it earlier, so much better than the track I've entered, might as well save it for the next UP contest. Bugger... "slaps self"

I've only discovered one song I properly LOVE this time, the 2 I already knew I love too but obviously they aren't discoveries. There's a handful of very good tracks too, but that pretty much equalled the number of songs I needed to give points to anyway. So yeah, not GR8.

Gonna be voting tonight hopefully - have got my final 12 now I just need to order them.

Does people need more time to listen and vote? Because I'd be happy to give a little more time as, I haven't recieved half of the votes yet and it takes a while to prepare everything.

I'd like some more time please, if possible. I've been at a funeral all day and really don't know the songs enough to vote. Weekend deadline? Results on Sunday or Monday? Or whenever is best for you.

I sort of wouldn't mind either way, I just want to give people the time they need to listen and vote properly - given it's alright to wait a few more extra days for the results. I can't do the results on a Monday, though, but Sunday works for me.

Listening through the whole lot today again I am starting to realise there's an "Unknown Pleasures" type song...like there's a Eurovision type song, and an X Factor Winner's type song and a Bond theme type....

 

There's a lot of them in this batch. So much so that lots of tracks are interesting without having any huge, obvious hooks. They will probably reveal themselves over time. My track stands out to me because it has a very broadstroke, obvious hook - so it will either do very well or really badly.

The pace isn't the only thing that makes a song different from the other, though :P I think there are a variety of songs in this contest, and I don't think a lot of songs merge into one another.. so either I'm misunderstanding something or we just look at things differently :unsure:

 

:D Oh and I have an interesting idea for the final show; What if.. at the end of each post with votes, I give the name of the next participant in line to vote, and you can all guess what that person has sent for an entry - before I post the next votes! You'll get one point for each correct guess and I'll have an additional scoreboard ready for input and at the end of the results I will reveal the winner of that as well. It's a bit difficult, I know, but it will get easier to guess along the line, when there's fewer people and songs left. Just to add some additional fun into it ^_^

No problem! It's only fair to everyone involved if a group of people need a bit more time to vote, and I could also use some more time to prepare the results.
