May 13, 201212 yr Author Oh my GOD. Revolution looks ridiculously high budget and actually pretty epic. Can't wait for that... The comedies all look shit. Maybe except for New Normal and Next Caller. Edited May 13, 201212 yr by ✞✞✞
May 13, 201212 yr Revolution looks incredible. Just hope it's not a Flash Forward where all the budget is spent on the pilot...
May 13, 201212 yr Wow the comedies really do look dreadful. Matthew Perry should have just stayed with The Good Wife for a while.
May 13, 201212 yr Author Chicago Fire looks proper dreary. Infamous looks like it takes itself way too seriously. Do No Harm looks like trashy fun... I love that his badass alter ego is called Ian Price though. Because nothing says dangerous sociopath like 'Ian'. I don't think this will be NBC's big comeback year somehow.
May 13, 201212 yr 'Revolution' looks really really good. I'm not sure how compatible it is with 'The Voice' but it's the best lead-in they have (although two cycles could be overload), although I wouldn't be surprised if it's ratings went the same way as 'Alcatraz' & 'Fringe' [the lead in and only show with a full trailer would suggest they're really behind it though]. 'Chicago Fire' doesn't look overly exciting from the clips, may give it a go just for Taylor. 'Animal Practice' looks like it should be cute if not extremely funny. The laugh track on 'Guys With Kids' is already annoying but 'The New Normal' & 'Go On' could both be decent. 'Do No Harm' looks terrible. 'Infamous' could be decent but would be nothing on 'Revenge'. '1600 Penn' looks silly. 'Next Caller' & 'Save Me' both look slightly better but 'The New Normal' looks like their best comedy. Overall I think the schedule looks pretty good. Monday & Tuesday should both be solid, unsure about two new comedies kicking off Wednesday and SVU at 9 but I understand they want to use it to help 'Chicago Fire'. They seem to have given up slightly with Thursday with Rock Center still being on the schedule but who can blame them after three shows flopped in that slot this season. Comedies on a Friday is interesting, especially if ABC go for the same thing.
May 13, 201212 yr Ooooh yay for clips! Go On || Ermmmmmmm.... This looks a bit shit || Will I Be Watching? Good god no. I may be convinced if some people on here really like it otherwise I ain't bothering. The New Normal || There is potential here, as long as they are careful to steer it well clear of Modern Family it could do well. || I'll give the pilot the once over at least. Animal Practice || Stick to Weeds Justin, although you're usually annoying in that too. || Think I'll give this a miss. Guys With Kids || Good LORD this looks awful. || Never. Save Me || This looks some what interesting || Pilot ahoy! 1600 Penn || The 'kid' in this needs shot || Loose the kid an we'll talk Next Caller || Reminds me a little of The Ugly Truth || 1 comedy I'm interested in adding to my weekly list out of 7 is not good enough NBC, must try harder next fall. Revolution || Wow. This looks really quite good || Better not do a FlashForward and become shit at exponential speed. Chicago Fire || Meh || Will see what the reaction is like. Do No Harm || Next || Not for me takk. Infamous || NOW WE ARE TALKING! This is more like it, a twisted cop show. || Hells yes! Hannibal looks promising but I'll wait for the clips to decide whether to pick it up to series, pilot or not at all.
May 13, 201212 yr Good schedule from NBC there, I assume the Friday comedy hour could plug the Wednesday 8pm hour if those new shows flop. The Tuesday comedy hour is a great idea though! Surprised about the lack of 'Biggest Loser' and also I would've put 'Parenthood' as a 9pm drama instead of SVU. Also Thursday seems to be a total write off! But it's good to see them making an effort to save Wednesday. Edited May 13, 201212 yr by xxxxxx

Fringe did really well for FOX for a while. High concept stuff CAN work on the main networks. It's got the best lead-in it could have on NBC. People are still looking for a post-LOST although I would argue that cable has probably found that audience with Walking Dead and Game of Thrones. Bit emphasis in the trailer on the female, so clearly they're looking to attract a female audience for an arguably male dominated targed audience show.

May 13, 201212 yr Author Bit emphasis in the trailer on the female, so clearly they're looking to attract a female audience for an arguably male dominated targed audience show. She's the lead character! I would say Revolution wouldn't skew too heavily male, it looks like a family drama more than anything... kind of like Terra Nova but actually good?
May 13, 201212 yr I didn't think they had Biggest Loser on last fall, or did they  Yeah they did! It averaged a 2.2, NBC are gonna have to hope some of the new shows take root in order to justify holding it off, that said I can imagine 1 cycle per season may help it grow to 2.5? (or just sink further into obscurity?)
May 13, 201212 yr They must be going for a less is more approach and to donate its time to The Voice.
May 13, 201212 yr Author They're refreshing it because the ratings slipped this season. The producers 'need more time' apparently so it'll be midseason.
May 13, 201212 yr She's the lead character! I would say Revolution wouldn't skew too heavily male, it looks like a family drama more than anything... kind of like Terra Nova but actually good? I can't see it being a family drama, 10pm is not family time! Terra Nova failed because of the way it was skewed imo, if they'd have gone for a different non-cheesy audience it might have actually done well. Just as long as the show is actually good then who knows what it might do, there's certainly potential for it to do well.
May 13, 201212 yr Just watched the NBC previews - Animal Practice and Guys With Kids look so terrible :P; 'Revolution' and 'The New Normal' look great though - I think NBC will find some hits there, I still can't believe 'County' wasn't picked up :o. Edited May 13, 201212 yr by xxxxxx
May 14, 201212 yr I'm not sure how I am supposed to judge a show from a one minute clip? They should've made trailers for them all. I wasn't overly grabbed by any of them except Revolution & Infamous. The scheduling is very daring and erratic though. If they weren't in last place out of the Big 4, I wouldn't be so concerned, but there is some very reckless moves there. It seems at this point as if they've just thrown everything into one box to try and find something that sticks.
May 14, 201212 yr According to Deadline Glee is heading to the Post XFUSA/AI slot on Thursdays, Tuesdays gets a two hour comedy block and Touch is Friday bound, most likely to timeslot share with Fringe.
