Posted May 14, 201213 yr I was listening to Atlantic Oldies 2NG most of the day and may insist that this radio station is fantastic for all retro music lovers! There are no boring DJs or omnipresent ads. Just good old hits from 60-70-80's era. And what i like most about their repertoire is that they play lots of forgotten oldies which you hardly hear anywhere else. Pleasant bonus is Retro Chart Countdown with Richard Todd which you can hear on SUNDAY at 9am EDT, on MONDAY at 8 pm and on THURSDAY at 12pm. I listened to Retro Chart yesterday and loved it very much. It lasts 2 hours and Richard Todd manages to play most of Top 40 tracks. Also looking forward to hear Rare 60's Flashback with Roger Davies show which will be on air on TUESDAY at 3pm EDT. Just wanted to share with you this information if anyone cares.
May 15, 201213 yr Author Any connection to Atlantic 252? Now that was an AMAZING station. No, they are different stations. Unfortunately i've never listened to Atlantic 252. However from what i read i can imagine they have been really amazing. The very last show on Atlantic 252 was presented by Enda Caldwell on 20 December 2001. It was briefly replaced by a sports station, TeamTalk 252 which was itself closed in the summer of 2002, just a few months after its launch. The frequency is now used by RTÉ Radio 1.
May 16, 201213 yr Alanis 252 we called it in 1996. I listened to it from 1989 onwards - it was generally what was popular in the European and American charts. They used to slaughter songs with overplaying them months after they peaked in the charts and were often slow to move on to the next hit of certain artists. Edited May 16, 201213 yr by Sinner
May 16, 201213 yr So basically Capital now  I remember they had a feature on weekday nights where they put two songs up against each other and you rang in to say what your favourite was, I did that several times.
August 22, 201212 yr Whilst I make shows for Atlantic Oldies 2NG, also check out Oldies Pardise, too. I would actually say, it's better than 2NG, but I shouldn't really...
