Aged 63 Born LaDonna Adrian Gaines she gained prominence during the disco era of the 1970s. She had a mezzo-soprano vocal range, and was a five-time Grammy Award winner. Summer was the first artist to have three consecutive double albums reach number one on the US Billboard chart, and she also charted four number-one singles in the United States within a thirteen-month period. She had nearly 40 UK top 75 hits including 9 top 10s including one #1. She was my favourite female singer from the disco era. R.I.P. May 17, 201213 yr RIP Donna. Not too familiar with her material since she wasn't active during my adolescence or adulthood, apart from "I Will Go With You" - the only song of hers I remember hearing on the radio back in 1999
