Just got a couple of seats for the Saturday night at the Lowry. :yahoo: Looked like many of the front seats had gone to the Friends of the Lowry but I was happy with some central ones.

Liking the new Forum description TT! :cheer:

Funnily enough I was wondering the same earlier! All I found was that they go on sale ' this week' so far.

Why?

Because i only really follow Will for his music career i watched bedlam and the vortex because they were of interest to me without Will ( it was a bonus that he was in them) it took me about 4 years until i saw mrs henderson ( and only then because i switched the tv over and it was on ) i have never seen Maple/Buzzcocks/question time and lots of other programmes he as been in, i really dont like the upcoming play so after after july/Aug it will be a long time until we get album/concert news.

Oh I see - I can remember you liked the Vortex so knew it was not just his singing but didn't realise musicals weren't particularly your thing. When I saw this version of Cabaret a couple of years ago it was pretty riske, not that I mind but I'd booked for my ex boss to come too and I'm not sure what he made of it!

I must be a bit shallow as even if I haven't liked something before I still want to get involved if Will is doing it. I've lost count of the number of songs I've never liked that Will has sung later and I've changed my mind! :D

I do like musicals ( love phantom, fiddler on the roof, Yentl, grease) just dont like this one and if it wasn't for the nudity/ bad language i probably would have gave this a go :D and i agree Ros i too can't count the number of songs i have disliked BEFORE Will sang them

I'm with you now.

Just remembered the nudity in Mrs Henderson presents, how could I have forgotten?

Michelle Ryan to play Sally Bowles with Will Young as Emcee in Cabaret

As already mentioned Rufus Norris’ Olivier-award winning production of the musical Cabaret stars Will Young making his West End debut as the enigmatic Emcee. The production is going on a four week tour from 3rd September prior to a run at the Savoy Theatre running from 3rd October until 19th January 2013.

Ex EastEnders actress (she played Zoe Slater) and Bionic Woman Michelle Ryan has been cast as Sally Bowles. She has no musical theatre credits but is a mezzo soprano who studied singing and dancing.

Luckily Sally isn’t supposed to be a great singer and Ryan said: "It’s one of those roles that’s like a gift. Sally is quite delusional. She’s not the best singer, she’s not a performer, but she has this kind of spirit that takes her through it all".

In her next The Man Inside which is due out in July she plays a character who sings. "I had to get my voice up to scratch for the film. I’ve been working with a voice coach for two years, so you could say that when Cabaret came along I was ready."

Michelle Ryan will be playing Sally Bowles in Cabaret, opposite Will Young, here in Sept. What a great cast this is shaping up to be!
