August 14, 201212 yr Sunderland have offered 12m for Steve Fletcher, which was rejected! Technically we've offered £10m (their initial valuation), and that was rejected. We then offered £12m (their revised valuation), and that's been rejected. They're now asking for £15m, to which I say they can go and fuck themselves. The whole saga's been rumbling on far too long, they're pissing us about, it's time to drop it and move on. He'll end up sold at a reduced price eventually anyway because he won't want to play in the Championship. Hopefully Jez Moxey gets hit by a bus, the fat greedy shit.
August 14, 201212 yr Author You have to pay a premium for proven PL goalscorers though. I imagine Wolves will be citing the Peter Crouch deals. Is very frustrating, but Wolves have the leverage at the moment. They know Sunderland want him, and they're probably wondering if any other clubs might come and meet their valuation for him. They don't mind stringing it out until the end of August whereas Sunderland won't. Classic game of cat and mouse to see who caves first, my money's on Sunderland.
August 14, 201212 yr I wonder how Blackburn will perform this year, it seems like there trying to sign players for the sake of it with the only player the really lost was Yakubu, but have purchased Colin Kazam Richards, Nuno Gomes, Leon Best, Danny Murphy and Ethu. I hope they still give David Goodwillie a chance, he's a bright talent!

Can't see Steve Kean lasting the season, not with the numpty that's basically running the club for the Venkeys.
August 14, 201212 yr Leon Best - £45k a week and then out injured for at least 6 months! I can't see Blackburn doing well for three reasons. 1) Their manager 2) Their defence 3) Their owners.
August 14, 201212 yr You have to pay a premium for proven PL goalscorers though. I imagine Wolves will be citing the Peter Crouch deals. Why not say £14m to begin with instead of pissing us around? £10m was still more than enough for Fletcher, regardless. Is very frustrating, but Wolves have the leverage at the moment. They don't mind stringing it out until the end of August whereas Sunderland won't. Classic game of cat and mouse to see who caves first, my money's on Sunderland. Not really. We're the only club interested, if they were holding out waiting for another club to come in with a bid they've failed. I doubt any other clubs would be stupid enough to come in and bid £14m for him. We've got the money, they need to sell him. I can see him being sold for way less than £14m by the end of the window.
August 14, 201212 yr If Wolves get £25m for Jarvis and Fletcher Jez Moxey is a genius. I'd pay £10m for Fletcher definitely, £15 probably too much though.
August 14, 201212 yr Author £15m is too much for him, £10m probably just about right. But I think he'll go closer to the latter fee rather than the former. Got two years left on his contract iirc, so even if he does want to leave Wolves they will probably just keep him until January/next summer. Like Spurs did with Modric, if owners are being very hard with their stances on transfer dealings then the deals just won't go through. Think he'll end up at Sunderland still though.
August 15, 201212 yr I'm optimistic for Everton this season, selling Rodwell could be there best piece of business, Everton are away to purchase Olympiakos striker Kevin Miralles for 5.3m (He scored 20goals in 25 games last season) meaning they have a strong strike force of Steven Naismith, Jelavic and now Miralles. M'baye Niang is also on trial at Everton, I think there team this season looks quite good, they should sign another defender though as Phill Neville is getting old.
August 15, 201212 yr Author The Everton fans were pissing their pants that they got £15m for Rodwell. They think he's shit. Everton will do what they do every year, no better no worse. The best they can hope for is a good cup run. Anyone that plays Tony Hibbert at right-back is going to do mediocre.
August 15, 201212 yr Louis Saha apparently at the AOL today, close to signing according to the ITKs. Alright squad player, no more. Surprised he'd even come here to be backup tbh. It's only a few days before the season kicks off, it does smack of 'panic buy' somewhat, he's been available for a while now, no idea why we're leaving it this late. Hopefully if we do sign him it'll get the ball rolling and we'll see a few more new faces in before we play Reading.

August 15, 201212 yr He's nowhere near as great a loss as people are making him out to be. I think it's yet another fantastic deal for Arsenal.
August 15, 201212 yr Man United agree fee with Arsenal for Van Persie I would say i'm glad this has gone through before Saturday, but then I look at the rest of their team and the mess ours is in and i'm still no more optimistic than I would be anyway.
August 15, 201212 yr I think Man U are going to be fantastic this season! wonder where Berbatov will end up now? Edited August 15, 201212 yr by LeeWallaceee
August 15, 201212 yr Still think they lack a top midfielder. They'd have been better off buying Javi Martinez Although, I guess it stops RVP joining a rival?

August 15, 201212 yr Author Firstly, I feel gutted for Arsenal fans. This is horrible, similar to how I felt when Torres left. I don't care if they want to move abroad, but to move to another Premier League club is selfish. £24m for an injury prone player in the final year of their contract? Good deal for Arsenal I'd say, terrible one for Manchester United. This is nothing more than a PR move. Good player yes, but this is more about getting over on Manchester City than anything else. They won't win the title again this season. Great strike force and they will kill off the lesser teams, but against the bigger teams their midfield is far far too weak. It was almost their downfall last year, and it will be again this year. Add this to a bull in a china shop right back and a left-back living off the past then they're pretty vulnerable.
