That really is a steal for Man Utd. A slightly different player to Hazard but ultimately they're both attacking/wide creative midfielders. Kagawa has scored more and assisted more, will be on about half the wages and cost less than half the price.

Will coup them loads in the long-term for the Asian market too. Fantastic signing for them, as much as I resent them, they know how to do business. HOWEVER they have signed another attacking forward again, and I'm not sure how much money they have available. Their front line is where they need to strengthen the least.

Although I dislike Man United, they always get players for a steal! I mean look at how much they paid for Hernandez!

Hernandez really stagnated last season. Don't think he'll ever be a top player at Manchester United, I don't believe he's got the traits to be a modern day striker, all he does is score goals and that's only one of the qualities a modern day top centre forward needs.

Wonder what the signing of Kawaga will do for Giggs/Valencia/Nani/ParkJiSung

I think Young and Kawaga will play on the wings tbh!

Hernandez is a good player but I don't think he'll ever be a top level striker who Man Utd consider their best and undroppable.

They do get some bargains but they do have to overpay for players too, Anderson springs immediately to mind. And Bebe hahahahaha

Think Park has left? And I'd be very surprised if Giggs is around after this season, unless they freeze him in time and make him into an infidelity loving cyborg (which they might have already done :D)

Fergie's made some poor buys over his career, all managers do. Bebe is by the worst, there surely is something more behind that than meets the eye. His obligatory YouTube compilation is hilarious, he can't cross a ball at all. Djemba-Djemba, Kleberson, Veron, Bellion, sure there's loads more than I can't remember.

Dong Fangzhou!

Forlan (to a point), Prunier(?), some backup keepers have been awful.

Forlan's a cult legend at Man Utd though for doing what he did to Liverpool, the jammy sod!

I remember the famous Roy Carrol incident against Tottenham when Pedro Mendes shot from the half way line and there were riots about that, I agree Fergie has made some awful signings especially with Djemba Djemba etc!

Awful quality though!

Lewandowski apparently off to Man United. He'd be a good addition as replacement for Berbatov

What are they trying to do, buy the entire Borussia Dortumund team? Good striker though. But again, they can sign all these good players but they're still refusing to strengthen where they're weakest (so it seems).

I'm sure it was just a quote from the Polish national manager talking up their players, he mentioned three or four of them. As I said in the Euro thread, Man Utd couldn't afford him.

Yep he was apparently misquoted. Said it was a sign of progress that Lewandowski could be joining Man United.. rather than he actually was

Manchester United has signed Crewe's 18 year-old Nick Powell for an undisclosed fee on a four-year deal.

I think Giroud is a risk, but at £12m it's a risk worth taking. The BBC seem to think Arsenal want to play Podolski, RVP and Giroud as a front three... well that won't happen, and if it does Arsenal are in for a bad season!

Personally I think despite whatever PR Arsenal may come up, this signing to me signals the end of RVP at Arsenal.. both completely different players, but the management team are doing their business for strikers before every tom, dick and harry knows they have £30m from the sale of Van Persie!

If Twitter is to be believed Steven Fletcher will be joining Sunderland after the Euros, which would be a decent enough signing but not for some of the fees being rumoured.

We've also approached City about Adam Johnson (which would be an amazing signing but won't happen because City won't loan him out and they're asking for too much money), and we've been "close" to agreeing deals with Victor Moses and Aiden McGeady since the season ended.

I don't like Adam Johnson. I think he's your typical "Match of the Day" player. Can look world class in 5 minutes of highlights, or a YouTube video but there's so much more to him than meets the eye, e.g. Mancini is no mug and he only plays him when he has to. I think there are better wingers out there, cos he probably has 2/3 years left on his contract still and will be on mega bucks. That saying if you could get him on loan with Manchester City paying 60% of his wages it would be a good signing. And MON loves his wingers.

I just think he's the type of player we need, and the kind of player who would thrive in an O'Neill type team. Like I said in my post, it's unlikely to happen. We've just gotten rid of Gordon who was on daft wages, Short won't want to spunk more money up the wall. I'd be amazed if we have more than £15m to spend this summer, and that includes the Gyan money.

In other news, Demba Ba off to Galatasaray, €11m (£9m). Decent return for someone they signed on a free.

Yeah, I think this summer for a lot of clubs will be less silly and more conscious of giving out silly wages (next season probably a different story with all the extra money going to clubs!). O'Neill likes wingers, so it's no surprise you're linked to him. I just find him incredibly frustrating and he's a player that while is exciting suffers terribly from wingers syndrome.

And I just saw the Ba news too. Good return, wonder if Cabaye might leave them this summer aswell. Cisse must be gutted!

The Turkish media also once claimed that Forlan and Reyes were off to Turkey. I wouldn't believe them just yet
