Well no great surprise there. Not sure what the Arsenal fans think about it, but I'm sure it's been a long time coming. Signing Podolski and Giourd before this announcement is good PR, but will both the players be as good as him? I'm not sure. Podolski I just don't rate at all, and Giourd could be something special, or a complete flop. Big blow to Arsenal, but at least they've already made the signings to cushion the blow.

QPR sign Park Ji-Sung

Is it more or does it feel like they're signing every reject available ? Their squad must be huge by now

Only clubs I could see him go to are Real, Barca, City, Juve, Bayern. PSG is probably still too low status and in a lower profile league. Juve won't have the dough for both contract and fee, Bayern are unlikely to be interested, Barca likely lack the money too and Real have good strikers already. That leaves only City (who really shouldn't be interested either with both Mario and El Kun in the squad, but seem to be nonetheless), if City cough up enough money I suppose he's theirs. If not then I suspect the club could keep him instead of selling him on to a competitor. I personally wouldn't mind keeping him if no good offer is there, not because I'd like to see a disgruntled Robin on the pitch, but because it's tiring to see stars consistently giving the club the finger. Then he can see if he can get as good a contract after he's turned 30 and has likely had a season less superb than the most recent one.

The bottom of the Prem is going to be exciting again this year, the promoted sides, particularly Reading and Southampton doing some great business early on and the two teams that just escaped significantly improving too!

Robin Van Persie says he'd rather join United than City, but Juventus is his first choice. He's going to look like even more of a bellend when he joins City now.

We've also apparently had a £29.8million bid for Lucas turned down. Not sure whether signing another 19 year old is a good idea anyway. Good potential, but we want an already established creative midfielder to really strengthen. Never going to happen under Ferguson though.

Is Lucas Moura even that great ? I haven't watched much of him, but the bids being rejected do seem like a lot of money. I guess he's being bought for his potential

and I'd be surprised if RVP went anywhere other than City with the wages they're able to offer

He's not worth £30m, and I don't believe for one minute Manchester United have that amount of money available. Everybody (bar Manchester City) is relatively skint.

Surprised Man Utd never went after Siggurdsson. Joe Allen could be another one.

Junior Hoilett has agreed to join QPR from Blackburn.

Paris Saint-Germain are going to be VERY frightning this year tbh, maybe they will go far in the Champions League.

They've currently signed so far

Ezequiel Lavezzi - 30Million (This Guy is AMAZING)

Thiago Silva - 42Million

Zlaten Ibrahimovic - 23million

They'll probably do a Man City and get knocked out early after being placed in a tough group, but go on to win their domestic league

PSG have a good team, but I'd be surprised if they win the Champions League for a while yet. Got Thiago Silva who is quality, but wondering if they'e just full on ignoring the UEFA financial fair play rules? Their downfall (if there is one) is that they are signing players with massive egos.

Manchester United, Manchester City and Juventus have had bids rejected for Van Persie. Really wondering what Fergie's obsession with strikers is?

To be fair, would he not be a replacement for Berbatov ? Owen has also been released (not that it'll make a difference)

If RVP has already said he wants to join United, they'd be silly to not at least bid/make an enquiry. Premier league proven and I doubt he'll cost much since everyone knows Arsenal want to sell and RVP wants to leave.. or they can just sit back and watch City buy him instead making it harder to compete next season

But Hernandez is the second coming of Jesus according to some Manchester United fans I know. More likely Fergie knows he can only play one role. RVP would be a quality addition to any team, just really think Manchester United have 2/3 positions they need to sure up before even looking at another striker.

does anyone know who is going to win the race to sign Akos Buzsacky from qpr. heard from somewhere its a 2 horse race between forest and Bristol city. equally i heard from another source that forest have tooken someone on trial who plays in the same way as buzsacky so if thats true then surely that means he will sign for bristol city.

They lost the league on goal difference last season, Fergie was always going out to buy goals this summer. Hernandez was plagued with injury for the majority of last season and it's only a matter of time before Welbeck's playing for a mid-table club again. Regardless of whether it's RVP, I firmly believe it'll be a striker purchased before a midfielder if any signings are made.

I'm hoping Bristol City will sign him, Forest don't really need to strengthen that area of the squad and if we do I'd rather sign Badar as he's the darling of Arabic football and will do wonders for us, it would also end the hopes of signing Adlene Guedioura, and Buzacky is quite injury prone.

So Liverpool looking more and more likely they will get Joe Allen and Clint Dempsey. I'm not so sure the Carroll leaving idea will actually happen, I've got the impression Rodgers is challenging him to become a better play, similar to what Mourinho always does.

Really impressed with Liverpool so far, their manager and their signings. Not convinced that the Allen fee is worthy but clever move if true by Swansea to use Liverpool's signings of the last 18 months in negotiations to get a bigger fee.

Forest confirmed Guedioura this afternoon, buzzing! :D
