August 8, 201213 yr I'm hoping Peterbrough do well because of Danny Swanson, injury prone but he's a real game changer! Yeah everyone around Peterborough has been getting excited about him, only been to one pre-season game and he looked good in that, so hopefully we've picked up some real quality there :D
August 8, 201213 yr Yeah everyone around Peterborough has been getting excited about him, only been to one pre-season game and he looked good in that, so hopefully we've picked up some real quality there :D He's played for Dundee United for 3years, I can assure you he's amazing! He was injury prone last year so it ruined his season, he's a lot better than most wingers and can produce something out of nothing. Sv_tqV8_jkY
August 8, 201213 yr Author Liverpool rejected more bids from Man City for Agger, and have also matched Swansea's valuation for Joe Allen.
August 8, 201213 yr Joe Allan would be a good signing for Liverpool, where does that leave Lucas though? hopefully Liverpool get rid of Jay Spearing now !
August 8, 201213 yr Author Joe Allan would be a good signing for Liverpool, where does that leave Lucas though? hopefully Liverpool get rid of Jay Spearing now ! Push him further up the field, plus he won't be back to his usual self before Christmas at the earliest most likely. Having Allen means there's less need to play him straight away. Have Gerrard, Allen, Lucas, Shevley, Henderson, Spearing and Adam as CM options. Not too bad. Have a feeling Gerrard might be played in the front three with the lack of attacking signings so far.
August 10, 201212 yr Author Craig Bellamy gone to Cardiff City. £1m payout from the Redbirds if they get promotion.
August 12, 201212 yr Rodwell to City for ~£15m. Not too sure on that one! Possibly a good deal for both though.
August 12, 201212 yr Lucas pushed forward? More likely to see Lucas in a DM role, Gerrard AM and Allen linking between as he did at Swansea. Pleasant surprise considering we've rarely seen Gerrard in an attacking role since Benitez left Adam clearly doesn't fit in with how Rodgers wants to play, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him moved on and I wouldn't be unhappy to see Spearing moved on either and Man City have just signed Rodwell for 15m-20m. Odd signing since you'd expect them to be building on their title win and attracting a higher quality of player rather than trying to rebuild with younger players. Also puts Allen for 15 million into perspective considering Allen will be a regular starter for Liverpool and is more established for both club and country
August 12, 201212 yr A week to go, and at last we're ready for the big kick off! So glad we've finally signed som- ..oh.
August 12, 201212 yr Author Rodwell to City for ~£15m. Not too sure on that one! Possibly a good deal for both though. Yeah I'm not too sure about that at all. I don't think Rodwell will ever turn out to be anything more than a James Milner type player. Not too bad a price though, and English so helps to fill the player quota. Can also play CB aswell.. and City need another one! Lucas pushed forward? More likely to see Lucas in a DM role, Gerrard AM and Allen linking between as he did at Swansea. Swansea fans have convinced themselves Allen wouldn't even be a regular first team starter for them. I'm chuffed with the signing. He can keep the ball very well and while he won't win games for the club he plays for not every player can do that. I expect Adam to end up at Fulham. Clint Dempsey was apparently in the Directors Box today.
August 13, 201212 yr Apparently Micheal Owen is away to sign for Everton, decent singing tbh, not brilliant but he's free and will be a good back up to Jelavic!

Clint Dempsey was apparently in the Directors Box today. It's too easy for opposition fans to have a dig "Haha overspending again", but Allen is being bought in to play a specific role and Rodgers has worked with him before, so will know exactly what he can offer. I think he'll play a key role for us by forming a midfield partnership alongside Lucas and Gerrard and acting as cover for Lucas if necessary I can't see Adam being willing to leave so easily. He's quite arrogant and I'm sure he'll think he can fit into the system, but the reality is he's too slow, is often caught in posession and continuously gives away unnecessary fouls. I do think he'd be a good replacement for Danny Murphy at Fulham though. I saw someone tweet they saw Dempsey in Liverpool, but surely there'd be pictures if he was in the directors box? 10 million is a lot of money for a 29 year old with one year left on their contract and we're probably trying to hold out until the end of window Personally I'd sell Carroll, Adam and Spearing and bring in a few attacking players. I did think we should keep Carroll, but he's too expensive to have as a plan B and changes the way we want to play. Rodgers wants a mobile front three that are able to interchange, which doesn't describe Carroll
August 13, 201212 yr Author If Dempsey does come it certainly won't be for £10m. We're skint I think. If it was that for that much it would have been a done deal a long time ago!
August 13, 201212 yr spurs fan here...can't wait till Modric deal is finalized and we sign a couple of capable strikers...

August 14, 201212 yr I still think the Chelsea team needs to be changed, I mean I would offload Ross Turnbull, Paulo Ferreira, Oriol Romeu, Florent Malouda, Josh McEachran, Yossi Benayoun and maybe even Meireles. I think we're in desperate need of another striker, We've only got 2 strikers (Sturridge & Torress) Chelsea are also in desperate need of RB, I had no idea Boswinga had been released.

Obviously we haven't got a great amount of money, but I think it's more likely that FSG are being cautious this Summer after the millions wasted last year. I'm sure they wouldn't hesitate if a Luis Suarez type signing became available I'd offer £2m plus Adam for Dempsey
