The only thing consistant about Big Brother is the amount of twists they introduce.

Season after Season, they reinvent the game and introduce twists that impact the game, but what do you guys think the best twist actually was?

Big Brother 3 - Power Of Veto

Season Three introduced the Power Of Veto - It's actually the only introduce twist that has stayed consistent since it was introduced.

The Power of Veto originally have the holder the opportunity to remove a nominee off the chopping block, if you won - you could not use it on yourself, This was until the last Power Of Veto which did allow you to remove yourself.

Big Brother 4 - The Ex Factor

Season Four introduced us to the first season where housemates would be living with someone they actually knew. 5 Ex Couples battled it out with 3 other housemates. The twist originally created animosity against the individuals that had Ex's - creating alliances to target the other half of the pair. However strategically this changed towards the end of the game where the Ex's would team up together to form alliances. Robert and Erika made it to the Final 4 together, despite having one of the more troubled relationships.

Big Brother 5 - Project DNA

Project DNA (Do Not Assume) worked on two twists. The first was Adria/Natalie who are identical twin sisters. They actively played the game as "Adria" for the first 35 days. On day 35 it was revealed that the twins have been swapping places, and they would now be separate entities. Interestingly enough, Adria was nearly evicted in Week 3, almost ending the twist for the sisters.

The other faction of Project DNA was that Michael and Jennifer (Nakomis) were Brother and Sister who had no idea about each other. Jennifer and Michael put the pieces together in Week 2 - and the producers confirmed they were Brother and Sister.

Big Brother 6 - Summer Of Secrets

Season Six had everyone starting as part of a "secret duo" - Each pair was told they would be the ONLY secret couple in the house, which was not true. If a couple made it to the end of the game, the winner would win 1 Million Dollars. The last couple that lasted were Beau and Ivette, however with Beau's eviction in Week 7, The eventual winner would only recieve the standard prize of $500,000.

Because of the popularity of this season, and housemate Janelle - the producers decided to make Season 7 an All Star Season. Of the 14 housemates in Big Brother 7, 4 of them came from Big Brother 6. Between Season 6 and 7, housemate Kaysar was evicted 3 times - and failed to make the Jury House both seasons.

Big Brother 8 - Enemies/America's Player

Big Brother 8 introduced two twists. Similar to Big Brother 4 - there were 3 sets of people who had an existing relationship that could hinder their game. Carol and Jessica went to the same high school and disliked eachother. Dick and Daniele were Father and Daugther who had not spoken in years, and Joe and Dustin had dated - but broke up when it was rumored that Dustin had cheated on Joe, and contracted gonorrhea.

Another twist that was introduced was America's Player. The producers had picked a player to act on behalf of America. The public would vote for various tasks and missions that Eric, America's Player would need to complete to win cash. America would also dictate who Eric would vote to evict, and how he should sway the house and nominate.

The twist went as far as evicting Dustin in week 4 - Despite not being the target and having an alliance with Eric.

The eventual distrust as seen by Eric's own alliance lead to his eviction in Week 9.

Dick and Daniele, the estranged Father/Daughter ended up being the final two. They both returned for Big Brother 13.

Big Brother 9 - 'Til Death Do You Part

Season 9 was Big Brothers first and only winter season. Premiering in February, the season was all about love. Similar to Big Brother 6, the housemates were competing in couples, however the housemates did not know each other prior to being on the show, but were matched by the producers. There was one couple that did have an existing relationship, Sharon/Jacob - however this was leaked within the first 48 hours, leading to their eviction.

Sharon however returned in the first week, when Neil was removed from the house - rumored to have gone on a racist outburst on host Julie Chen.

For the first 3 weeks, the couples would be nominated together, and evicted together. Big Brother put an end to this twist in Week 4, when the game became individual.

Big Brother 11 - Cliques/Coup d'État

Season 11 introduced the High School Cliques twist. The 12 housemates were put into High School Cliques - "Popular" "Off Beat" "Brains" and "Athletes" - Each clique had 3 members, with exception of the Athelete's clique who gained an extra member, Jessie from Big Brother 10, after winning the first HOH Competition.

The game was still individual, and the only benefit of having the Cliques was that if the HOH was in your clique - you could not be nominated for eviction.

The Cliques twist only lasted a few weeks, allowing the nominations to be a free for all.

The second twist this season was the Coup d'État, allowing one housemate to overthrow the HOH that week and nominate two people of their choosing. Jeff won the Coup d'État after a public vote, and overthrew Chima, who was attempting to get 2 people out who Jeff was aligned with. Jeff nominated Natalie and Jessie, and the housemates evicted Jessie.

Chima did not take the Coup d'État twist lightly, and was expelled on Day 41 for breaking several house rules.

Big Brother 12 - The Saboteur

Probably one of the most epic Big Brother Fails. The Saboteur twist was designed to reek havoc and make things uncomfortable in the house. The Saboteur's intention was not to win the game, but to spice up the house and cause drama. In the first week there were several coded messages causing drama delivered to the houseguests from the Saboteur. However the Saboteur was evicted in the first week - without the housemates realizing that it was actually that person.

Big Brother 13 - Couples Twist and Returning Housemates

Much like Season 6 and Season 9 - The housemates were put into couples. Originally there were 8 housemates put into the house, and they were allowed to create duo's on their own accord. They were than joined by 6 returning housemates - Dick/Danielle from Season 8, Jeff and Jordan from Season 11 and Brendan and Rachel from Season 12.

For the first 3 weeks - The housemates would be nominated in their pairs. If the one half of your pair is evicted - than you get a "Golden Key" giving you safety up until Week 3.

The intention was to have this twist for 4 weeks, however Dick was removed from the house on day 6 due to a personal matter, The producers gave Daniele (Dick's Partner) a golden key, and the first weeks eviction went as scheduled.

Rachel from Big Brother 11 ended up winning the season.

Personally - I loved Big Brother 6 and the twist.

It was interesting to see them all figure it out within the first week and guess the couples correctly.

It also lead to some explosive arguments and evictions. Great twist and season.

  • 2 weeks later...

I think the best twist was the BB11 clique twist. I thought it was quite fun to watch and caused drama!

I hated the BB13 twist, simply because all the newbies were scared of making big moves against the Vets until it was too late.
