KYLIE Minogue's "rock" Olivier Martinez has spoken publicly for the first time about his lover's fight with breast cancer.

 

The 40-year-old maintained a dignified silence throughout the Aussie beauty's illness.

 

But now the actor reveals he did whatever he could to help her through her ordeal.

 

"What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. When life tests you, you have to do your best," the chiselled charmer explains. "I'm there for her."

 

Olivier was dubbed Kylie's "rock" as he helped her battle breast cancer following her diagnosis in May last year.

 

The 38-year-old singer is rehearsing for the rescheduled dates of her Showgirl tour, which kicks off in Australia in November.

 

Kylie recently set tongues wagging that she was about to tie the knot with her French lover of three years when she called him "amazing" and said: "I would love children - we have to see."

 

But Olly admits: "I'm very happy the way things are."

 

He was once linked to Tomb Raider stunner Angelina Jolie - although the pair denied they were anything more than friends.

 

But Olly says it's not hard to work out what Brad Pitt sees in the lilo-lipped star.

 

"Angelina's much more than a ravishing beauty," he gushes.

 

"She's an extraordinary woman who deserves to be loved for her talent and for her humanitarian work and all she does for great causes."

 

But he's not such a fan of his fellow actors. The Gallic hunk said: "I'm in a career where it's difficult to see who's who. You see great depth and stupidity at the same time sometimes."

 

Of his status as a sex symbol, the serious S.W.A.T. star tells France's Nice-Matin newspaper: "I did not choose to be good-looking. I didn't become an actor to be loved by women.

 

"Anyone who looks at my CV closer will see that I've done classic work, too. People shouldn't stop at the image they see in glossy magazines.

 

"But it's not too late to discover who I am. I've still got some surprises up my sleeve." Like a huge rock for Kyles, perhaps?

 

He's done a great job of looking after her I think, well done to him.
