Same. I love me a female piano ballad and this is good, but it seems lacking in melody somewhere. Maybe it's a grower and eventually it will be up there with Daniel.

For someone who has already sat up and took notice of her already this not going to be a revelation just a continuation. Again, I must add that I am not disappointed by Laura at all. She remains, with Joanna Newsom, the most interesting female singer of the century for me.

This. I've never paid attention to Bat For Lashes in the past but I caught Laura on Radio 1 last night and it's beautiful. Might have to go and check out her past material now or at least the upcoming album.

Laura would not have been out of place on Two Suns.

She was pretty special at the iTunes festival on Friday - new stuff sounding superb, and a lot livelier than 'Laura' (which was magnificent and was the highlight of my friend who wasn't familiar with her).

Noisey put up a great interview with Natasha today about the new album. Sounds like she suffered from writers block which is why it's taken 3 years for this to come out.

 

I love both Laura and All The Gold!!

Nothing is clicking with me yet. Maybe it will all make sense when I hear the whole album.

Honestly, a little disappointed w/ the album. ): The singles are the best things on it.

Just about to take my first listen... I wasn't expecting amazing things but Ben's words do not fill me with hope.

^Well I think it is really strong. Obviously I've only listened to it once through so it will be difficult to form a full opinion, so I'd give it another chance Ben. "All Your Gold" probably being the stand-out, it grows more and more on me each week; but there are clearly gonna be some absolutely massive growers here. The songs are more focussed than her previous albums and built more around hooks so I could see it doing well commercially, or at least being a minor hit.
