October 17, 201212 yr This book has been delayed. Price on Amazon has increased to £11.66 from £9.06. My Amazon account states, "Dispatch Estimate Monday 29 Oct 2012 - Thursday 1 Nov 2012. Delivery estimate Thursday 1 Nov 2012 - Wednesday 7 Nov 2012." According to Book Depository it has been delayed to 1st May 2013. Their price is £9.71. But they say there were only 113 million sellers. Confusing!
October 17, 201212 yr Email from Omnibus Press, "It will be published on the 1st November 2012. " And that's official!
October 25, 201212 yr Author The OCC have now done an 'Article' about the Book, on their Site. Apparently, all 123 Million Sellers are discussed, in the Book:, http://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/c...n-sellers-1666/
November 1, 201212 yr It's on it's way! Latest from Amazon "Preparing for dispatch". Should receive it by next Monday (I hope).
November 1, 201212 yr I'm getting this for Christmas too. By the way, since the book apparently contains 123 songs and we know Matt Cardle was the 123rd million seller, does this mean this book won't contain Call Me Maybe?
November 2, 201212 yr Received mine this morning! Book contains 123 million sellers, Carly Rae Jepsen is 124 so is not included. The Beatles - Hey Jude is now however a million seller with 1,060,000 sales!
November 2, 201212 yr According to Music Week 29/9/12 Hey Jude had topped 80,000 download sales. So were vinyl sales really 980,00? Most think pre-download sales were 925,000. Are all sales figures rounded to nearest 10,000? What is the sales figure for She loves you? Amazon says my book won't be delivered until next week - how did you get yours today?

No idea 2bh, I received an email saying it had been dispatched with an expected arrival date of Nov 5th. Then I got another one saying I would receive it today, was being sent by courier. Arrived at like 10 this morning :S She Loves You is on 1.9million
November 3, 201212 yr I recieved my copy this morning :-) I don't want to spoiler the whole book, and we have the list of 123 million sellers elsewhere anyway, but I thought one of the most interesting sections was the 'almost a million' section which details 13 more singles that were within 50k of 1 million as of May 2012. 990k Elton John and Kiki Dee - Don't Go Breaking My Heart 990k Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan - Especially For You 990k Cheryl Cole - Fight For This Love 980k Tornadoes - Telstar 980k Royal Scots Dragoon Guards - Amazing Grace 980k Atomic Kitten - Whole Again 980k Peter Andre - Mysterious Girl 980k Cliff Richard and The Shadows - The Next Time/Bachelor Boy 975k Lady Gaga - Bad Romance 960k UB40 - Red Red Wine 960k Pussycat - Mississippi 950k Lou Bega - Mambo No. 5 950k The Beatles - Help! The same section also mentions three 2012 songs as being close to the million, Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe, fun ft Janelle Mottae - We Are Young and David Guetta ft Sia - Titanium.
November 3, 201212 yr I'm assuming Bad Romance and Fight for this Love are selling well enough to reach it before the rest.
November 3, 201212 yr I'm assuming Bad Romance and Fight for this Love are selling well enough to reach it before the rest. That would seem reasonable. Out of the rest of them, I dunno. Most look like the type of track that would only trickle sell in infinitesimal amounts. Atomic Kitten & UB40 will probably get there at some point, and The Beatles as well. But of course if you wait long enough, *everything* will sell a million copies :)
November 3, 201212 yr I think Misissippii may have benefited from several weeks of appearing on BBC4s Top Of The Pops reruns from 1977 earlier this year, and I can't help thinking that the planned reunion of Kylie and Jason this summer (cancelled due to rain) was meant (or at least hoped) to be a chance to announce it as a million seller and perhaps give them something commemorative onstage, shame it never happened.

It's been rescheduled to the 21st December. So it should easily become a million seller next year.
November 3, 201212 yr Cool, glad to hear the reunion will happen eventually then. Will it be televised or is it just something you have to be there to see? Back to the list I'm guessing Elton and Kiki also benefited from BBC4s TOTP reruns last year, just not enough to pass the million. And I think the least likely to make it on that list is the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards as to the best of my knowledge an original recording of that track is simply not available to download anywhere.

It probably won't be shown live, but like a couple of days after or something. I'm sure the news on the TV and internet will be showing clips of Kylie and Jason performing anyway!

Actually you can buy it on two albums on iTunes- '100 Hits of the '70s' and 'The Best Year of My Life: 1972'. Artists is credited to The Pipes and Drums of the Military Band of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards.
November 4, 201212 yr My book has apparently been dispatched, it's also out on the Kindle today on Amazon if anybody has one. Even if you don't want to buy it that way you can download a free sample of the book to your Kindle!
November 4, 201212 yr My book has apparently been dispatched, it's also out on the Kindle today on Amazon if anybody has one. I do, but I prefer having physical copies of non-fiction books.
November 4, 201212 yr Same here but it's worth getting the preview for free, features all the introductory blurb and the first four million sellers from the 50's.
