Posted July 4, 201213 yr http://store.universal-music.co.uk/invt/06...gn=UMG%2BStores Bit more detail here of the kind of tracks and who will be producing Joe's album. Quite like the idea of "Something's got a hold of my Heart" and interested to hear the tracks he's written. Looks like he's gone the way I thought and has a mix of songs he's written himself and some covers. http://www.kililive.com/joe-mcelderry-exclusive-pre-sale/ Album Launch Info here. July 4, 201213 yr I actually look forward to hearing what he's done with 'Skyscraper'. Of course it won't be as good as Demi's version but I hope he hasn't completely ruined it.
July 7, 201213 yr I doubt Joe would ruin anything he sings. In my opinion! He is doing two album launch shows on 18 September in Newcastle and on 20 September at St James' Church in Piccadilly, London. I would love to go but I am saving up my money for the tour.
July 11, 201213 yr Joe did a showcase of the album for TV and radio executives today and the tweets I have read are very positive.
July 12, 201213 yr Oh dear. No doubt this will be another revolting collecting of unoriginal songs with a few original songs thrown in. When is he going to give up?

July 12, 201213 yr Im disappointed that he has recorded covers again. He's had two albums of covers now and whilst they saved his career it's about time he got an original album again so he can start to make his name as an original artist and not just someone who repackages old tracks because they sold in the past
July 13, 201213 yr Author Im disappointed that he has recorded covers again. He's had two albums of covers now and whilst they saved his career it's about time he got an original album again so he can start to make his name as an original artist and not just someone who repackages old tracks because they sold in the past He's written some songs for this one though, including the title track. I see it as a gradual progession. He needs to take his "Classic" audience with him for now. I agree it would be good if they were all originals but I'm thinking it may be a bit of a risk. This way he gets experience writing and I'm guessing that the next album the balance will be more originals than covers.
July 13, 201213 yr When are you? I'm entitled to express my opinion, whether you are agree or not is your choice.
July 13, 201213 yr Author I'm entitled to express my opinion, whether you are agree or not is your choice. Of course you are. You want him to fail and go away, we get it. There are plenty of forums of artists I don't like, which I read but rarely comment on. I'm waiting hear the material and who knows the songs he wrote may be rubbish but he can't win. Decca are obviously planning a long term strategy with him and its obvious to me the aim is to take his audience with him and increase it. First step writing some new songs. Next album if this goes well, more original songs. Given how well Classic went for him, he doesn't want to alienate all those ppl immediately by putting out an album with all new songs. If he still has a few covers those people will buy his new album and hear the new songs, hopefully like them and next album when he writes a higher percentage they will come too.

I really doubt he is going to do well and stick around. He just isnt very good and has an average voice at best. I think the problem is he lacks good enough material to propell his popularity. He seems to record a lot of dreary cover versions. His last album sold about 200k if I am right which is ok but nothing to be amazed about. That was on the back of lots of promotion due to him winning the talent show.

His last album sold about 200k if I am right which is ok but nothing to be amazed about. That was on the back of lots of promotion due to him winning the talent show. He will stick around simply because he doesn't need itunes etc and the kind of audience he has isn't based on trends. Classic is on around 240k if I recall correctly and they wern't sold on the back of the TV show entirely. The album came out two months after he won and it not like that instant XF boost. All he really had was daytime TV shows to sell it. Virtually no radio airplay either. One prime time performance would easily have sent it platinum. I see his career as a steady one, he won't sell a million albums but when all the other XF winners have come and gone he will still be getting gold albums and performing if it's done right. You may say Gold isnt fantastic but the aim is to have a career and perform. He can really sing. I don't see how someone with an average voice can sing Nessun Dorma and Canta Della Terra and the like but as you said you are entitled to your opinion. I guess you are not interested but can I suggest you watch him sing CDT live on you tube. That is not average. He premiered his new song, whcih he wrote at a Perez Hilton event last night. On first listen, pretty good.
July 14, 201213 yr I dont particularly like his music, but I think the fact hes had some success after being dropped by Syco make me want to see him do well. After there being so many male winners from X factor and they've all disappeared it would be nice to see Joe do well.
July 14, 201213 yr Author Here's the recording from Perez Hilton last night. Sound quailty not perfect but you can get a good idea.
July 15, 201213 yr Joe is the sort of singer who will outlast the current crop of tuneless wonders. His new self-penned song is excellent and I am waiting to hear it in its proper setting, without the screaming which seems to accompany all live performances these days. Actually ever since Sinatra! I don't the point of screaming over someone singing. Still that's my opninion to which I am entitled.
July 19, 201213 yr Has he got an official lead single with a video then or is it sort of a promo song for the album only? I actually quite like what im hearing from Here's What I Believe, it would be nice for him to get another top 40

I actually quite like what im hearing from Here's What I Believe, it would be nice for him to get another top 40 Yes I think it's a grower, nice melody there and like the falsetto bits. Want to hear the studio verson. He's been asked about a single and I think he said it would be a focus track. He tweeted yesterday that another song he's written has been added to the final cut of the album too.
July 20, 201213 yr I also heard that he is singing one song in Italian! As I cannot get onto Joe-Nuts, I have to take the bits and pieces of news as I find them.
July 22, 201212 yr Author Much clearer vid of Heres What I Believe. You can hear all the lyrics on this one. Actually forgotten how gorgeous he can look as well Performed for Smooth radio, Liverpool, yesterday. Album release has been brought forward to 10th September. Edited July 22, 201212 yr by torresgirl
