They're also doing it for the semi's but the draw to determine which country is in which semi will still take place.

Denmark will be in the first semi with Norway in the second, this is meant to be a ticketing issue.

Sounds like an awful idea, and very unfair! :o I hope when details become clearer that it will make more sense.
Well, usually the draw doesn't hinder great songs from winning. And I actually think this is for the better as having 3 ballads in a row only has bad effect on those songs' results (they will just murder each other's chances completely) and the contest in general (one will see that it's 3rd ballad in a row and will change the channel or something). So yeah doing this uptempo-ballad-uptempo-ballad thing is a wiser move. I just hope Christer won't become too power-hungry and get his personal favourites into the pimp slots.

This is looking bad for Norway and Denmark... Sweden will give an awful draw for us as they always wish us to do worse then them :P

There is even a saying here 'It dosn't matter if we don't win, as long we beat Sweden/Norway'

and crap, we lose Denmark in the semis :( If Sweden will vote in SF1 we are screwed big time

What the hell? Christer Bjorkman's influence on things never fails to surprise and amaze me, Melodifestivalen is one thing but how's he managed to get this one past the EBU? I don't care HUGELY, obviously the running order has some impact but a winning song will win from any position and a losing song will lose from any position. I'm all for ensuring we never again get a repeat of 2006, the most turgid opening half an hour of a Eurovision final ever witnessed thanks to a sea of drab ballads all drawn together. Of course, it does raise a few questions, will the favourites be deliberately placed at the end, a la Melodifestivalen, or will Christer dump them at the start to harm their chances and in turn increase Sweden's own chances? It's all borderline corrupt.
He is obviously high on Euphoria, and wants another win for Sweden in 2013 :heehee:
It just seems odd that this is happening for the sake of a few ballads that may or may not be clumped together.
Bizarre decision, but at least Sweden are still being drawn randomly! At least this means it's very unlikely that we'll be drawn near the start, after we opened the show last time. Maybe.

A bit random, but I just thought I'd post this as I can't say I've seen it mentioned anywhere.

This happened at the recent Asia-Pacific Song Festival (Asia's Eurovision equivalent):

Just imagine that at Eurovision *.*

The Eurovision equivalent of it:

:drama:

Asia have already outdone Eurovision after just one contest

It just hit me that Eurovision 2013 (by that I mean NFs (the season PROPERLY opens with NMGP usually, at least for me) starting obviously) is SO soon! <3
Yeah! In less than a month we will know Switzerland's entry, and Belarus' first of many entries that will change
I bet they would've won this year. But nobody will just never know that. :D

That is surprising (for Portugal not Poland), but in terms of the amount of good songs, matters very little.

It is quite sad some countries are dropping out. Can we get a few African nations who don't hate Israel in to replace them?

I can just about put up with 'Israel/Turkey/Russia/Azerbaijan ect aint in europe!' but 'Egypt aint in europe' is a STEP TOO FAR!

But think of the cultural diversity we'd get with an array of Egyptian entries! *.*
