Gary Barlow announces loss of baby: Poppy Barlow delivered stillborn

Gary Barlow has announced that he and his wife Dawn have lost their baby daughter.

Poppy Barlow was delivered stillborn on Saturday (August 4).

"Dawn and I are devastated to announce that we've lost our baby," he said in a statement.

"Our focus now is giving her a beautiful funeral and loving our three children with all our hearts. We'd ask at this painful time that our privacy be respected."

The Take That star announced that the couple were expecting another baby in February, before revealing the sex of the unborn child in April.

Gary and Dawn, who married in 2000, welcomed their third child Daisy in 2009. The pair also raise Daniel, 12, and Emily, 10.

Im so sorry for them, no one should have to go through that. I can't imagine how Gary and Dawn had to break the news to their other children, its heartbreaking.

Its such a sad story and sadly quiet a common story. Words dont express how awful this is to happen to any family. Im sure it is an extremely tough, sad and emotional time for the Barlow family and all the extended family. I am sure they are a strong enough unit to get through this, my thoughts, prayers and well wishes lay with them and others who have suffered such tragedies.
I can imagine that one of the worst things for Gary and Dawn will probably be seeing Mark and Robbie's daughters playing and growing up together as they will always think of Poppy and how she would have grown up with them

Very true, with Mark and Robbies kids going to roughly the same age it will always be a reminder of what could have been, not that Dawn or Gary will ever forget Poppy but with other kids so near and close the reminder will be prominent.

Relating to X Factor i doubt its something the Barlows even consider at the moment, when these style of tragedies happen people either through themselves into work or completly strip back, each does what they believe is best, but im sure they will do what they feel comfortable with.

Was off line for a few days so only getting to comment on this awful story now, its very sad news and sad for any person or family, im sure their 3 kids is the shining light in all of this, its terrible to think how such good news and excitement can so easily turn to sadness and loss. I wish the barlows well and hope they have the strength as a family unit to overcome this.
