I totally agree! I remember watching her do a performance of Why'd You Lie To Me on TOTP a few years back, and was gutted because she was so obviously miming. Wish she wouldn't when she pulls it off so well live. :(

when you have a vioce like hers there should be no need to mime its a shame :(

i don't think she always has a choice to sing live or not. it's a real shame they make her mime.

according to a recent docu about TOTP they insist that all artists mime, Oasis once stepped away from the mike mid sentence just to prove it, which we knew already. Once a singer sat thru her own performance cos she couldn't hear the soundtrack, we could.

Hopefully she doesn't get to practise the miming any more as the real deal is what we all want.

yeah because certain programmes don't have the right equipment such as GMTV or the Paul O'Grady Show but i thought that with TOTPs being a music programme that the artist would sing live, i have only really heard one band sing live on TOTPs

Maria Lawson performed live on GM:TV a couple of weeks ago though.

I have seen her sing on MTV but not on the likes of GM:TV and The Paul O'Grady Show

its to do with the record label, its all about the money being spent. it costs more for the record label to allow the artist to sing live. anyway we all know anastacia can sing live, with one of the most powerful voices.

and mariah does not always sing live, she hardly ever does anymore, she always mimes the louds parts, you dont hear her live that often no more! :P
