August 27, 201212 yr I hope Molly Sanden returns! I doubt Danny will again surely? I wouldn't be surprised if Helena Paparizou is involved too, she's always said she'd like to represent Sweden I think. Edited August 27, 201212 yr by Ryan741
August 27, 201212 yr Helena is thrown around EVERY YEAR, and doesn't ever seem to happen. Maybe she will one of these days, I don't know. I'd like to hope Danny would come back, but if a song as insanely good as Amazing can't win, then I totally understand him not wanting to come back and lose again. :(
August 28, 201212 yr Helena has said she doesn't want to do ESC again yet so won't compete in Melodifestivalen, not for a while anyway. I'd love Måns Zelmerlöw to take part again, it's been too long!
August 28, 201212 yr Yeah, he doesn't need Melodifestivalen to be the best thing to come out of Sweden anyway! :kink:
September 11, 201212 yr Dates & cities for next year have been announced. Deltävling 1: Den 2 februari, Karlskrona, Telenor Arena (2006 och 2008) Deltävling 2: Den 9 februari, Göteborg, Scandinavium (2003–2012) Deltävling 3: Den 16 februari, Skellefteå, Skellefteå Kraft Arena (2005 och 2009) Deltävling 4: Den 23 februari, Malmö, Malmö Arena (2004, 2009–2012) Andra chansen: Den 2 mars, Karlstad, Löfbergs Lila Arena (2004 och 2006) Final: Den 9 mars, Stockholm, Friends Arena (2002–2012, tidigare i Ericsson Globe)
September 18, 201212 yr SVT have announced that 2,549 songs have been submitted for Melodifestivalen, which scandipop say is the lowest since 2002.
September 18, 201212 yr Lowest in over ten years? I wouldn't have expected that, thought that everyone would be going for it since they're hosting.
September 18, 201212 yr I suppose Euphoria was always going to be a hard entry to beat, so maybe some songwriters are holding back their best offerings for a couple of years. Therefore, I'm not overly surprised song submissions are down, but I expect the artists that are drafted in to sing the songs will be mostly of a high calibre.
September 19, 201212 yr That's still an impressive figure for a country of Sweden's size. Could you imagine if the BBC got even 5% of that???
September 24, 201212 yr That's still an impressive figure for a country of Sweden's size. Could you imagine if the BBC got even 5% of that??? 5% ? where can I read a full article ?
September 24, 201212 yr 5% ? where can I read a full article ? It was hypothetical. As it is I'm sure they'd get considerably more than that.
September 25, 201212 yr I hope Danny submits again...and this time makes it! Like he should've made it the past two Melodifestivalens. Freaking Eric Saade and Loreen.
September 27, 201212 yr It amuses me that people can see a country get its best result in over a decade followed by one of the most resounding Eurovision victories of all time and still say that they chose the wrong songs...
September 27, 201212 yr Only in a matter of opinion. Loreen obviously did better than Danny ever would have done - but that doesn't mean you can't think Amazing deserved to win MF on the basis of you preferring the song?
September 27, 201212 yr As much as I love In The Club and Amazing, there is no doubt that Sweden sent the right songs. Danny would not have done as well as either Eric or Loreen. I prefer Amazing to Euphoria but the right song won at the end of the day.
