Well they've been at Sony's autumn release showcase today and Tweeted about Olly's new stuff (which they now appear to have had a massive bollocking about) so it must be! I imagine it's a good time to release one now, especially as she's touring here round the arenas next month. Couple it with an X Factor performance/Strictly Come Dancing performance and BOOM. Guaranteed sale!

That reads like a bloody amazing 'best of' album actually. Hit after hit!

I swear I just posted this, clearly not though  I guess I didn't press post and closed the window thinking I had!

Anyway hmmm not sure. She is my favourite artist of all time and my body is ready etc. but it's commercially not really the best direction (I doubt it will sell a lot). THere are apparently 6 new songs too; which is great to have more new material but it seems like filling space to me... A tracklist of something like this would be good:

01 Miss Independent

02 Low

03 The Trouble With Love Is

04 Breakaway

05 Since U Been Gone

06 Behind These Hazel Eyes

07 Because Of You

08 Walk Away

09 Never Again

10 My Life Would Suck Without You

11 I Do Not Hook Up

12 ALready Gone

13 Mr Know It All

14 What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger)

15 Dark Side

16 New song

17 New song

18 New song

(Sober and A Moment Like This could be on the US edition in place of The Trouble With Love Is and Low I guess). I don't think they need 6 new songs to fill space with her having enough singles, but them doing so makes me feel like they'll leave out some tracks. Can't worse than J-Lo's GH anyway

Consider me excited!

Nothing was as bad as that...oh no wait, Jamelia's was a slap dash job.

She could have pushed "Stronger" a little longer.

I don't think I can be bothered having another "Stronger"/"My Life Would Suck Without You" - type song.

As great as it will be to have a collection of all of her hits, you only need to look at them to see there are very few. From five albums, other artists would've been able to make 15-track GHs FULL of hits, yet I only count 7/8 actual hits in the UK from those listings of her singles above, which is a shame :(
She has plenty material! I hope Sober is on there even though it wasn't properly released in the UK
Oh dear. She hasnt enough material for a proper greatest hits.

It probably feels like that because despite there being 4 studio albums, Breakaway was the only lengthy 'era' per se.

Loads of artists have been in worse positions to release a GH and done it, I'd say it's reasonable enough.

with so many studio albums she should have more hits but at the same time she still has a few big hits, i dont buy her albums but i will probably buy this, have to say stronger is her best single i just love the song.

Bit premature... Kelly has spoken out against releasing a Greatest Hits in the past so if this is true, I doubt she authorised it. Anyway she's been speaking about a new album

On the eve of the 10th anniversary of her historic win of the first season of “American Idol,” Kelly Clarkson was celebrating the milestone the best way she knew how – by making more music.

Though her fifth studio album “Stronger” is less than a year old, Clarkson was already hard at work on her sixth album over the Labor Day weekend, cutting a pair of tracks with producer Greg Kurstin – the man behind her biggest hit to date, “What Doesn’t Kill You (Stronger).”

“We’re always working,” Clarkson said Tuesday night at a New York event for Pepsi and the NFL’s new Pepsi Anthems program, for which Clarkson recorded an original song for her home team the Dallas Cowboys, “Get Up.” “I go overseas for awhile and when I come back it’s the holidays. I wanna make sure I have actual time off, so I like to get ahead of the game.”

Though new material is already in the can, it may be a minute before it sees release. Clarkson is still very much riding the waves of “Stronger,” which was certified gold this year and leaped to No. 19 on last week’s Billboard 200 on the strength of a $6.99 sale tag at Target stores.

‘”Stronger’ [the single]was so successful and we’re kind of having a hard time getting it off the radio,” Clarkson said with a laugh. “And ‘Dark Side’ [the third single], that’s starting to climb so we might be pulling back a bit and waiting. It’s a great thing to have such a massive hit, but at the same time kind of a double-edged sword.

The album has also doubled as a calling card for producer Greg Kurstin, who co-wrote “What Doesn’t Kill You” and produced “Dark Side.” As a result of his success with Clarkson, Kurstin recently teamed up with Pink on six tracks for her album “The Truth About Love,” out Sept. 18, including first single “Blow Me (One Last Kiss).

There are apparently 6 new songs too; which is great to have more new material but it seems like filling space to me...

Expanding on this; it's apparently 6 new recordings, 2 of which are covers.

I'm sad she's moving on from Stronger so quickly...then again Dark Side did pretty much kill the era.

she has had 15 top 40 hits in the UK

Perfect tracklist for me:

01. Since U Been Gone

02. Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)

03. Miss Independent

04. Breakaway

05. Never Again

06. My Life Would Suck Without You

07. Walk Away

08. Because Of You

09. Mr. Know It All

10. I Do Not Hook Up

11. Behind These Hazel Eyes

12. Sober

13. Dark Side

14. Already Gone

15. *New Song*

16. *New Song*

17. *New Song / Lead Single*

Btw, the track placings aren't in any way reflective of how I rate the songs, I just think that would make the most sense. For example, I actually dislike 'Stronger' a lot yet love 'Behind These Hazel Eyes'. :P

I presume they'll make the tracklisting?

she has had 15 top 40 hits in the UK

That's called a singles collection. A greatest hits requires actual, you know, great hits...
