Posted September 15, 201212 yr Hallo ^_^ Could you guys & gals please name some symphony/opera-metal bands with FEMALE lead vocals? I've kinda just discovered this genre while listening to a random LastFM station and Im utterly taken by it. Trance is what I listen to most and I find something similar here - delicate female vocal with agressive backing instruments (instead of kick-drum its ragin guitars). Im hooked and cant get enough of this stuff. Im looking for bands like this. This is such an epic song what an amazing vocal :w00t: qmLIE6ULtyU Im looking for more stuff like this, please if you have a moment name some, thank you ^_^
September 15, 201212 yr Easy- Delain Lacuna Coil Tristania Nightwish After Forever Epica Edenbridge Indica Sirenia Leaves Eyes Xandria Should get you started but most may be a little heavier than WT as they're fairly lightweight and that track particularly. Nightwish (when Tarja was singer) were probably the most operatic but have a male singer too

BTW Lacuna Coil - Our Truth is like WOW :w00t: Just what Im after, mad guitar riffs :arrr: w/female vocal
September 15, 201212 yr If you like Within Temptation then some of Evanescence's heavier stuff should appeal, particularly from their latest album. "Made Of Stone" is a fantastic song, "My Heart Is Broken" is my favourite but it may be a little poppy for your tastes.
September 15, 201212 yr Nightwish are one of my favourite bands ever... although I prefer them when Anette's taking vocal charge - Tarja is amazing too but less consistent. Nightwish in almost all they do though: Of that list you give Severin, I keep trying to get into one of them other than Nightwish, and I can't, not in a major way, I must have listened to at least one song from all of them by now though.
September 16, 201212 yr Awesome ^_^ Thanks will check em out on YT. BTW Lacuna Coil - Our Truth is like WOW :w00t: Just what Im after, mad guitar riffs :arrr: w/female vocal  Of course if you want really mad guitars with female vocals I can suggest much heavier stuff but it isn't so melodic all the time...

I know what you mean for much of them. I have to be in the right kind of mood for this sort of thing although for me Lacuna Coil do stand head and shoulders above the rest. It probably depends on which tracks you have heard too
September 16, 201212 yr For WT, I've heard Memories and Faster and while I love Memories, I can never remember how Faster goes. With Epica, I do quite like Storm The Sorrow but not enough to check anything more out and the likes of Delain, Xandria and Sirenia I've listened to some tracks and didn't really get them. I can't recall if I have tried Lacuna Coil although I've known about them for ages, I'll have to listen again sometime when I can.
March 31, 201312 yr The most well known bands were probably mentioned, but here are some lesser known but still amazing femme metal bands: Autumn wWXY3-FsRyI After Forever (this song features Sharon from Within Temptation) KE8FyKIJFwQ Elis (warning: German language!) GY_NINTZXkg Leaves' Eyes crW0oe78ZB0 Lumsk (in Norwegian language only) dCFfuq_1iJA Lunatica 8fvF7PE1zrM Mortal Love As986ld3fpw Vanguard W3hYLHy7hSk I have many more, but these are the ones I could think of being closer to Within Temptation. Of course if you want heavier stuff with fame vocals then definitely check out Amaran, Tristania, Sirenia, ReVamp, Epica. Or my favourites: The 3rd and the Mortal, The Gathering. :)
