September 20, 201212 yr It's terrible but I only voted dislike because I don't truly hate anything. I hate it when something new comes to the chart and I'm expected to like it because it's something that's not been heard here before. Music doesn't work like that. Also don't like the xenophobia claims. Some people on here are morons.
September 20, 201212 yr It's not a matter of xenophobia or racism, it's just a shit song pure and simple.
September 20, 201212 yr Author Remind me what language do Americans speak (and sing in) because I CAN'T QUITE REMEMBER? I know it rhymes with 'English'. Xenophobia isn't about language, it's an irrational fear of everything from other countries...
September 20, 201212 yr To me USA and UK are insanely similar (apart from left-side driving and tea off the top of my head). PLUS y'all can understand each other. And let's be honest the whole xenophobia thing is largely based on the language barrier and big culture differences. OH HE'S AN AMERICAN HE'S GOING TO COME TO THE UK AND START DRIVING ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD AND EVERYONE WILL FOLLOW SUIT. WE'RE GOING TO LOSE OUR ESSENSE. I'm with junior triangles on this one. American culture easily translates to British - and indeed Irish audiences. It's what might be called "foreign acts" that don't do so well. Scandinavia pop and indie can be successful when they sing in English. It really is all about the language.
September 20, 201212 yr Love it, the dance is oddly what's stopping it from becoming a novelty me so far. Plus, the lyrics are at least far less inane than most LMFAO songs (using "Shots" as an example despite the fact that I bizarrely like that as well) QpTpPmrbwvI
September 20, 201212 yr Love it! P*sses over anything and everything LMFAO has done. ...........and that's supposed to be difficult to do? *mindblown*
September 20, 201212 yr Voted 'Like it'. It's good fun. And pop music should never try to be anything more than that. I hate it when it gets all pompous and 'up itself'. Don't know about anyone else but I'm getting shades of 'Pump up the Jam' by Technotronic in that.
September 20, 201212 yr Somehow I doubt it. I'm getting the impression that it's all "ha!ha!ha! It's so funny, half of it isn't even in English!", so by that reckoning it'd make it worse? A little condescending there Harve.. LMFAO are trying to be funny/credible, at least Psy realises that it is shite and rather takes the piss out of itself.
September 20, 201212 yr I wouldn't buy it or anything, but it's catchy and all. It's a craze at school and I hope it gets to number one for a laugh!
September 20, 201212 yr Love it at the moment. Do people thinkl there will be K-Pop songs charting in the UK more regularly from now on? Or just a one-off this?
September 21, 201212 yr Author Love it! P*sses over anything and everything LMFAO has done. Big deal - the local cats achieve that every night...
September 21, 201212 yr Love it at the moment. Do people thinkl there will be K-Pop songs charting in the UK more regularly from now on? Or just a one-off this? I'd love it to open the floodgates for K-pop but to be honest it's probably just a one-off.
October 5, 201212 yr Shows what kind of a bubble I live in, I've only just heard this. Are we back in the 80s when novelty pap like this was number 1 every other week. This is unspeakable.
