Commentary ; Gangnam Style reign at the top extends to a sixth week as it marches relentlessly towards becoming the world's number one hit. However this week's highest new entry at 15 is also a slice of K Pop in the form of G Dragon, member of one of korea's most popular bands Big bang. The other new entry at 20 is by Bob Sinclair who charted with me in 2005 with "Love Generation" and in 2006 with "World hold on". This time he bizarrely samples the children's song "T'es pas cap Pinocchio" hugely popular in France in 1993. The biggest threat to Psy's reign at the top comes from bachata singer Toby love who climbs from 13 to 3 with "Lejos".

There is much better G-Dragon materials from his solo work on his latest album (Missing you is rather poor of standard tbh) so check them out as well. :D

Thank you for your reply Oricon. I usually listen on youtube to the K Pop songs at the top or near the top of the Gaon/Billboard chart ... but only really in the last 6 months...and latched onto Gangnam Style when it entered at number one in Korea and of course was amazed at the video. I thought then it could be a pan-asian/european hit but wasn't expecting the reaction in the US. I have also charted Girls Generation and Super Junior in the past 6 months. The G Dragon song entered at 3 on the Billboard chart this week and I like its retro familiar feel and it does have a western feel as well. Haven't really listened to other G Dragon /Big Bang material yet .... actually I just now listened to "Monster" and that's great.
