My favourite memories:

When we first got MTV in 1993 the first VJ I saw was gorgeous Marijne van der Vlugt. She was also singer in a band called Salad.

I even remember the first video I saw was All That She Wants by Ace Of Base. This was long before it had a UK release.

My favourite VJ was Simone Angel, she used to present Party Zone on Friday nights.

Show was full of European techno & dance music plus interviews.

I remember I always recorded it to watch during the week.

Used to love the pants of her.

In 2005 she married former Newcastle Utd. footballer Andy Hunt. They now live on Aruba and have two children together, named Lucas and Aidan

Here's a list of VJ's I remember & the shows they presented:

Simone Angel - Party Zone, MTV Dance, Dance Floor

Paul King - MTV News, Morning Mix, Hitlist UK, MTV's Greatest Hits.

Ray Cokes - Most Wanted, X-Ray Vision, The Big Picture

Pip Dann - Dial MTV, MTV at the Movies

Rebecca de Ruvo - MTV Prime

Eden - Euro Top 40, MTV Select, Dance Floor Chart

Kristiane Backer - MTV's Coca-Cola Report, European Top 40, Awake on the Wild Side

Steve Blame - MTV News

Vanessa Warwick - Headbangers Ball (Rock show)

Marijne van der Vlugt - The Pulse With Swatch, Post Modern

Ingo - Morning Mix

Carolyn Lilipaly - MTV News, MTV News at Night, Hitlist UK

Lisa I'anson - MTV News, The Soul of MTV, Hitlist UK

Downtown Julie Brown - Club MTV (broadcast from MTV USA)

Enrico - Hangin' Out, Select MTV, Afternoon Mix

And then there was Beavis & Butthead

Used to love they way they played, not just UK & US videos but videos from all over Europe.

Those were the days - MTV at its very best. It went absolute crap when they split it up.
