Posted September 28, 201212 yr Hi peeps, not been here for a wee while. :( Has anyone been watching the TOTP's re-runs on BBC4 on Thursday nights at 7.30pm? It's reached August 1977. (It's meant to be 35 years to the week but with junked/missing editions and "The Sky At Night" to fit into their schedule they've fallen behind by a month). Last weeks episode originally went out on Thursday August 18th 1977. In that edition, DLT announced the death of Elvis and a clip of "Loving You" was shown. Unfortunately BBC4 edited this out of the programme. I don't know why. Possibly the BBC didn't have clearance from the Elvis Estate to show the "Loving You" clip. (Remember back in 2005 when "One Night" went straight in at No.1 and they had to have an Elvis impersonator to perform the track!!). Well last night's edition was the week that "Way Down" climbed from 42-4 on it's way to it's 5 week run at No.1. It was 2nd on the bill and was danced to by Legs & Co. It's on I-Player and repeated on BBC4 late on Saturday. It will climb to No.1 next week. Sadly it's 2nd week at No.1 won't be shown because that's the last missing episode of TOTP's. It looks like BBC4 will be continuing these re-runs into 1978. We should get Elvis again in December when "My Way" charts. I've already caught this clip on Youtube and it's a bit freaky! On a similar note, Danny Mirror's "I remember Elvis Presley" will be popping up in the next few weeks! Be warned! :unsure:
