With the reveal of 'Birds', The Netherlands' odds are shortening massively - 10/1 or less in most places now! Now 5th favourite! :o

I still think its only a borderline qualifier as its not very instant, as it is only growing on me now with my 3rd and 4th listen! The new jury/televote voting system announced yesterday will also hinder this I think, but I really do hope that it qualifies!

I think it's more than a borderline qualifier. I actually like it a lot on first listen. I don't agree that it doesn't have the potential to be instant.....it's classiness is very apparent I think.

The only thing I could really see working against it is that it's another slow tempo song....and it's among a lot of slow songs at the the start of the first semi. Aside from that it shouldn't have much trouble qualifying. (It hasn't got a whole of competition really)

I don't think it'll actually win the contest but it should qualify easily enough.

This is the brightest it has looked for the Netherlands in a long time.

Amazing odds, seems bizarre to see them doing so well, they usually have their generic 100/1 plastered next to them every year. It sounds like a lost 70s classic or the sort of song that Rumer wishes she'd got her hands on, Radio 2 would be ALL over this for weeks if it won, which it obviously won't as it's not commercial enough.
I hope the juries will drag this into the final. I worry whether it'll be memorable enough for the viewers - there's every chance a lot of them could think it just doesn't go anywhere. A massive risk considering this is very much the make or break entry for the Netherlands in Eurovision. If this fails I can see them definitely pulling out.
I hope the juries will drag this into the final.

I think the idea that the juries save the "good" songs and the public saves the "bad" songs isn't really correct.

If I remember correctly Iceland wouldn't have qualified last year if we had been counting on just the juries.....same with the Netherlands last year it was actually the juries that ruined them.

With the voting change it really seems like a song will need the support from both the public and the juries, so if Netherland flops in either one there will be no Netherlands in the final. I'd like to think Birds stands out a little more than your typical ballad though.

Oh, it wasn't that juries save the good and public save the bad (after all, Georgia would've qualified with the juries last year), more that I think juries are more likely to vote for subtle tracks or growers than the public are.
This will surely qualify. I can see it being a firm fan favourite in the semi finals... How well it'll do in the final remains to be seen, but this year is going to be unpredictable I reckon!

Not performing as strongly as Denmark on the various itunes chart but doing well none the less, i would suspect many viewers who like this song would not be up to date on downloading, i firmly believe this will give Denmark a run for its money to win the final on Saturday night.

She also premiered a 4 video storyline on VeVo

This is the order Anouk premiered them in, not sure if it is the correct order

EDIT: I think this is the correct order

As an artist she has grown on me with all these video's now. I cant help but think she is on the same road as Lana Del Ray.

So she's releasing her album tomorrow. Actually can't wait.

The TROS don't want Anouk to win because it'll cost them too much

Why the f are they even competing then?

Erm if all countries that couldn't afford to host Eurovision didn't participate we'd go back to 1960 participation numbers.

But surely you'd enter to win? Not just for the sake of entering?

It's be hilarious to see their faces if Holland really did winnever happening but still

You enter because you need to keep interest in Eurovision in your country alive even if financial situation might be bad. Sometimes it's not really about winning. *cough* Igranka *cough*
I bought the album today for my mother's b-day. She's a big fan of Anouk. This is like the third time I'm giving her a CD of Anouk for her b-day but at least I know she enjoys it
Anouk's album and Birds are doing amazing in Europe
Her album is so beautiful, I'm not usually a fan of this sort of music but her voice is just gorgeous.
