Does anyone know anything about her new single? Its due out the 1st monday in october. I liked some of her other stuff but the last album performed badly.

Yes, the new single is indeed 'Catch You' and due to be released on October 2nd, and will be the first single from the new album Trip The Lights Fantastic.

 

I've heard the song as sung by someone else (the person who produced it uploaded it to some site as vocalled by someone else) and I promise you that what I heard was one of the finrst pop songs of the year, so that's really wet my appetite for what will hopefully be Sophie's triumphant return. :D

I really hope this is a triumphant return for her, but if she sticks to the sound of the last album I can see her flopping, which will be a big shame :(

The last album wasn't very commercial and although it was still quite poppy in places, it experimented with a lot of different sounds so I can see why it failed in the commercial stakes, but at least she took a risk with it. I guess after an apalling choice of lead single (IMO one of the worst on the album), it was just a disaster from there onwards and it all went wrong. :(

 

 

This sounds good news about the new single. She needs to come back with something good or I think she will be dropped. I didnt mind MIXED UP WORLD, but I thought I won't change you should have been a double A with yes sir, I can boogie. I remember many fans commenting they preferred the b side.

'Yes Sir, I Can Boogie' was a fantastic cover, there are many better single choices I would have made over the lead single on the album (Love It Is Love, You Get Yours etc), but I guess it's done now and we can't change it. :(

I loved Sophies first album (Read my lips) that was FANTASTIC, but i wasnt to keen on the second album. She has a good voice but has to keep to the right songs.

 

Also, I havent heard this song yet, But when I hear it I will comment more in this forum.

It's a brill electro pop stomper, reminds me of the honeytraps but more feisty..and more sophie!
