I kind of agree what you are saying. the word "pop princess" is usually represented with younger female singers and Kylie isn't that. Though she is the best. Britney's music is very pop and Christina isn't. If you think of it like this...you could fill a dance floor with Britneys songs but you could only do that with a few of Christina's. You see what I meen? Britney defines teen pop. That makes her the modern princess of pop I think.

I don't think Jessica's singles have been embaressing. I think she's great. Not a pop princess though. At all.

Jessica Simpson is sucessful now?

When she has a massive selling album and sells loads of singles in the UK then she can be used in the same sentence as Christina, Britney, Kylie and the like.

Who said anything about just the UK? Just because she hasnt been as big as the others in the UK - does'nt mean she can't be in the same sentence as them. She's doing very well in the US atm and with a UK release of her album and single impending - she might finally get the recognition she deserves over here.

The ones I remember were covers and not that poppy. The video for 'These Boots...' was the only thing that made that a hit (the film didn't do that well in the UK) and it wasn't easy to sing along becuase it just sounded like a song for her to wiggle about to while we sit embarrassed because we don't look half as good as her (or I defnitely don't).

I totally agree with what you said about Britney/Christina though.

Britney...well I'm sure she's good in her own little way.

Christina rules, and I think her continuous top 10 singles (we'll forget I Turn To You for a second...) prove that she is ultimately the Princess Of Pop out of that list.

Jessica Simpson has the talent, but instead of making decent songs, she went down the reality TV route and tried to get fans from that...didn't work for me, I ended up hating her.

Mandy Moore?? Um...I only remember one of her songs: Candy  Maybe she should stick to what she's good at...singing? No. Acting? No...oh dear.

Exactly. Jessica's albums generally do well in the USA. Her last album sold something like 3 million in the states. And that's good! She doesn't do well in the UK but generally she does not promote in the UK

I've only seen Mandy as an actress in that recent film she starred in about American Idol, quite frankly it was the worst movie I have EVER seen, and judging from that alone she is a terrible actress.

In her deffence "A Walk to remember" was a hit. It was a great film and she was brilliant in it. Very convincing. Her second film "How to deal" was quite good to. I haven't seen anything else.
I love christina but she has had 3 albums and 11 singles, sold 30+ million records which is great but she did not sculpt the pop scene like britney did, i agree with Ozx. britney has had 5 albums not including the remix album, 21 singles and consistently put out music, christina releases like every 2 and a half years britney released in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005. So just to be honest she rightly deserves the crown rather you love her or not she has proved herself. she may not have a great voice but had had ALOT of worldwide number ones, and 16 top ten singles in the UK. thats all i have to say.

I'd go with Britney over Christina anyday.

All the hype over Christina's new album is wrong when I've listened and apart from about 3 songs its overated trash.

Christina is the better singer overall that you can't deny but a lot more of Britney's songs appeal to more people. Looking at Christina's I like about a dozen of her songs where when I listen to Britney's Greatest hits I'm only skipping 3 or 4 tracks at most

Britney has more "pop" appeal for sure. She can fill a dance floor and has more remembered "anthems".
Exactly. Christina really doesnt have a song that will be remembered in ten years. Britney on the other hand has oops i did it again, which is really cheesy now but you must admit it was beyond popular at release and still gets good radioplay for a single thats more then six years old. Toxic is also goiing to be remembered i think its a modern day hit and is still very popular. Baby one more time was just a ground breaking single that appealed to almost everyone and is still getting good downloads and airplay 8 years after the release. the closest thing christina has is genie in a bottle.
Yes beautiful. I dont think dirrty will.

Brtieny has good songs but she`ll only be remebred for that...the songs..christina will still actually be here inn 10 years time!and were remeber here and the voice!
The bottom line is in terms of "party" songs Christina really just has Dirty. Whilst Britney has a string of max martin pop anthemic pop tunes and has been more consistant with her carreer. Christina will have a longer carreer but britney is the modern day princess of pop
How can you say that christina will be here for longer and be for sure? You cant, christina could quit music after this album because shes married! Britney could make ten more albums, or vice versa you cant say one will be longer then the other.
Christina has way more longtivity (is that the word?) than Britney because she established her talent with her voice whilst still pleasing a pop crowd and more. Christina has a wider audience than Britney. Britney is just a pop star. Christina can sing ballads, pop dance - she is more versitile. Once her looks go she will still have her voice. Once britney's looks go she is a hasbin dancing around. Sorry to offend if I am, I like britney. But I see Christina having a longer carreer. Thats just me
