Posted October 28, 201212 yr Wow jaw-dropping breaking news, Chelsea have launched a complaint against Mark Clattenburg regarding inappropriate remarks made to Chelsea FC complaints. Both the Chelsea FC players were black, and strong rumours that they regard ethnic origin. Of course these are only rumours. The plot thickens in the racism story..
October 29, 201212 yr Aaaaaand now I look like an idiot in the Premier League main thread. Apparently the referee's mic isn't recorded, which seems daft.
October 29, 201212 yr Author I think the mic is recorded, at least I always thought it was. But it's only heard by one or two people. The Mail reckon he called Mata a Spanish twat, and the other player in question is Mikel. Pretty serious allegations, especially if they're made by two players. At least this will keep Jason Roberts off the back pages for another week. Thought he got the Ivanovic call right. The Torres one was terrible though. And the goal given by Hernandez at the end was even worse. Really really poor.
October 29, 201212 yr Torres should have arguably been given a straight red for the first one, although that would have altered the game so much that it's unlikely that the Ivanovic incident would have even occurred. With his second yellow it was almost as if Clattenburg had forgotten he'd already given him the first one, completely killed the game.
October 29, 201212 yr Watching the highlights I don't think Clattenburg made a particularly bad decision all game. I thought the Torres one was spot on, going down so theatrically with the most minimum of contact is precisely why diving can exist and be gotten away with so easily. He was trying to get Evans sent off, cheating pure and simple. I for one have loved the sizeable increase in bookings for simulation in recent week and I hope it continues too, for everyone that dives and goes down far too theatrically and easily. I love Sergio Aguero's title winning goal so much, not because of how dramatic it was or that it was Man Utd involved, but because it was a one of the best cases of staying on your feet in modern football, 99% of the time players would've allowed Onouha to clattered them and get a penalty and him booked/sent off. But he didn't because scoring was important.

November 4, 201212 yr Author Turns out that Clattenburg may have said "I don't give a monkeys" Hardly any malice in that.
