Petra Marklund has just released a new album under her own name. It's called 'Inferno'.

I must say I was positively surprised. I had read that she had left the dance-pop behind (good thing because 'Love CPR' was pretty bad) but the change of style was still a bit surprising.

My favorites are 'Handerna Mot Himlen'', ''Vad Som Helst'' and ''Nummer''. The album hit #1 in Sweden and the single #2 so it seems that people still enjoy her music even though it sounds nothing like her old stuff.

It's a glorious album, great production and super strong melodies throughout.

I agree. Although tracks 1, 2 and 4 are not really my cup of tea (maybe they will grow).

 

I was going to opt for Handerna Mot Himlen this BJSC but I ditched it so I thought I could safely make the thread now :D

Förlorad Värld is my 2nd favourite track though.

Handerna Mot Himlen is great, it has SUCH a strong melody and production, by a bigger artist and with an English translation it could easily be a big worldwide MOR smash (although it basically was for Coldplay, under the moniker Viva La Vida). The album's decent enough but I actually loved Love CPR as a whole. That said, this is better than anything on that album. It's not THAT drastic a departure in sound, granted it's not dance but it's pretty uptempo in parts and she could have still released this single under the September moniker without too many raised eyebrows. The rest of the album is a little more subdued in parts mind.

Okay, I just gave this a (reluctant) listen.

 

Why has she never released stuff like this before?! SO much better than her usual September DRIVEL.

 

Förlorad Värld is GORGEOUS.

 

And she totes need to become Girls Aloud's 6th vocalist. *.*

Pavel why are you taking John's side on this? Maybe I need to give Forlorad Varld another spin.

 

By the way is there any news on the second single? Handerna Mot Himlen has done great and it's time for a follow up now.
